I had to take Astronomy to fulfill my science core and wasn't a huge fan. Reucroft is SUCH a nice guy and has the cutest accent, but the material is just so boring. The tests are pretty hard and it's difficult to gauge what material he will put on. Not a huge fan of the course. His accent only helps so much!

cute accent, passionate about astronomy, interesting topic, lots of cool pictures and concepts, i.e. worm holes, time travel, black holes...the tests are 90% math problems, lets you use "cheat sheet", bonus questions worth 10 pts each, 2 per test

I took this class because of the good ratings and it fulfilled my Natural World requirement...but....this class ended up just sucking. I'm a business major and had never taken Physics so that might be part of the reason. There is no textbook to refer back to, I fell asleep constantly, and for me it was a waste of time. It's really easy to cheat.

A great guy to talk to and someone that goes over the math in very simple terms. If you have taken physics before most of this will be review, but you also get some history of astronomers and a few slide slows here and there. His lectures arenĂ¢€™t bad at all; and his tests and final arenĂ¢€™t bad. I would recommend the class.

I love this guy. He has kinda lame but funny jokes. He realizes that college students are lazy and tries to work around that so that everyone does well. Just a really nice, smart professor. Charming accent, too.

VERY easy, fail-proof core class. 2 midterms and a final (which you're exempt from if you get 100% on both midterms). Interesting class, I learned a lot and found myself making connections to everyday life. You get a cheat sheet for all exams, and there are 12 questions worth 10 pts. each.

He's very entertaining and very funny, but if you signed up expecting to look at pictures of planets then you're in for a shock. The tests are all mathematics so you have to pay attention and study.

This review seems superfluous having read the others, because they pretty much nailed him. Brilliant. Witty. Engaging. I once overheard him after class going pound for pound with some religious hardliners - impressive how eloquent, polite, and effective his trouncing on their religious whimsy

Teriffic guy. A genius AND a good teacher, which is a rare combination. Made me interested in courses I shouldn't have been interested in. He's an internationally-known researcher, and writes a daily column for the Boston Metro. How cool is that?

The man to have for Astronomy. He's simply the best. If you have any interest in the subject, take it with him. He'll teach you so much, as he does research for NASA.

He's a really nice guy and the tests are easy. Practice mid terms really help, some of the same questions are on the real test.
