Theater class is amazing. I was scared and nervous for a few weeks but now I'm performing Ionesco and Sartre in front of the class in French and loving it. Great for oral skills and he lets us recreate/rewrite parts of the plays with our own twist. Creative and fun. Made me appreciate Moliere! MAJOR LOSS for HC, he's the best in French dept.

Shapiro is a real spitfire..and easily the best dressed professor around. He's got a great sense of humor and wonderful enthusiasm that makes learning even the driest material painfree. Homework assignments are thorough, but only to prep you for the exam. Take his class if you get the chance--you won't regret it.

Great teacher, is really helpful and really reasonable. He will change test dates if he doesn't feel the students are ready and is always willing to give study sessions or extra help before tests. He is really nice and funny. He even has the class over for dinner at his house. A great way to fulfill a language requirement.

Not too much work, always fair. Bit of a hard grader and has pretty high expectations, but overall is a very nice guy. Always willing to review, and is very friendly. Word to the wise: he "grades down" (aka a B+****is given a B for a final grade), so be careful if you are watching your GPA
