Stephen definitely makes you work for your grade, but it wasn't too hard at all! In order to get an A in the class he tells you in the very beginning exactly what to do. He is super understanding and is always willing to help with any assignments. He is also super funny and tells a lot of stories.

He tells you upfront what he grades on, and you can always run your work by him before the deadline to get some really good feedback.

This class was so much fun! At first I was a little worried about taking Sociology, but after the first day, I was so excited. Stephen gives amazing lectures and keeps you involved. His lectures are engaging and hilarious! He tells stories that contribute to the lesson and they make you laugh all throughout class. This was a favorite class of mine.

Stephen is great! His lectures are entertaining and he has fun when he teaches. Yet that does not lower the quality of the material. Attendance (at the end of each class you write a paragraph), a weekly quiz of 5 questions, and a weekly one page submission is all that is accounted for your grade. No testing center.

I had the Soc 230 class and even though you start the semester needing to read a couple books (The Sociological Imagination and The Road to Character) he made it SUPER enjoyable and really interesting. He is really funny and down to earth. I recommend him 100%. (PLUS he doesn't give exams or use the testing center)

Brother Smith is a very good professor, he makes his lectures interesting to watch and gives good example to make the concepts easy to understand and apply. The work load is pretty heavy you have to write 2-3 papers a week and that can get a little tedious but over all I liked and learned a lot from this class.

This was one of the hardest classes I've ever taken, but it also made me feel like I'd actually learned something for once. Stephen won't go easy on you, but if you can pass, you'll feel like you really accomplished something. He gives great feedback and is very helpful, even on the simplest assignments.

This is an easy class but attending class is mandatory. Even if you have a real circumstance, don't expect Stephen to work with you. He has seen it all and does not show compassion to students.

This class was fantastic and so was Stephen. I'd highly recommend both the class and the teacher to anybody who wants to learn more about the way the world works and be inspired to make a difference. Stephen is funny, helpful, inspiring, and is the embodiment of a professor at BYU-I. Social Strat was a great class, do the work and you will pass.

Stephan is awesome! He is willing to work with the students. Class is very enjoyable. He makes learning fun due to his hilarious stories. You read a chapter or two a week with a short quiz once a week with a TA. There is one major paper due at the end of the semester, but its super easy. overall, incredible class.

Stephen was amazing! This class meets with a T.A. on tuesdays to go over the reading and take a short reading quiz and then combines to meet with Stephen on thursdays for lectures. The lectures are hilarious and you dont want to miss them! While they dont take attendance, there is a short quiz every class for participation points.

Stephen was the best. His lectures were so interesting, he is hilarious, and the class is pretty simple. You have chapter readings before class; read them and take decent notes because they help a ton on the weekly papers. The papers are only one page. Go to the lectures, you won't regret it. I would easily take another class of his.

Stephen is super chill. In his classes he really wants you to learn and take your education into your own hands. I have taken a few classes with him and I have loved his lectures. If you take an online class with him it's not as good as he is in person. He has a great sense of humor. A little on the wild side.

There were two papers due every week. They were short and very easy to do so don't let that stop you from taking this instructor! He was an awesome teacher and I am looking to see if I can take another class from him. He has an awesome sense of humor, his weekly lectures are great and you can watch them at your leisure. He is engaging and fun!

CHOOSE HIM!! He is very kind and HILARIOUS! Lectures are NEVER boring! I learned a TON from Stephen. Attendance matters, tests are based off his lectures but they are so interesting and hilarious it's easy to pay attention. You have to write a short/EASY essay once a week. Do the reading and pay attention in class easy A. Tests were not hard!

Incredibly lax grader, tries a bit too hard to try to seem cool though. I took this class as an elective and regretted it not because it was hard but because you have to do some weird things (there are now people in Rexburg that think I am homeless) but if this is for your major it's really not that bad.
