Hes lectures arent the most exciting but the readings are very fascinating. There are weekly quizzes, about 2-3 papers and no final exam. He is a tough grader when it comes to papers so ace the rubric he provides. He loves to talk, shows his passion for literature. Attendance is mandatory he does take attendance. Id recommend him.

Professor Bland was not a very exciting lecturer. There is reading assigned for every class (it's a lit class, so that's expected), but I used SparkNotes and got most of my understanding from lectures. He will give you a B+ on papers; for an A, I had to go talk to him and ask what was it he wanted for an A paper. Got an A overall. Pop quizzes.

Mr. Bland is awesome. He is interesting, intelligent and he knows his stuff. He'll be more than willing to help you. However, he gives many pop quizes, an oral presentation and like 3 papers which is a lot but there's no midterm or final exam.

this guy is very unfair. I worked with him and finally showed improvement towards the end of the semester, but apparently individual progress means nothing and I didnt pass with the grade I wanted. not sour graping but I worked my a$$ off to no merit!

I highly recommend Prof. Bland. I have taken 2 classes w/him and if he taught every english class that i needed, i would gladly take him again, & again. It's a privilege to be in his class. don't leave ru w/out taking 1 of his classes.
