He seems to have his lectures planned to the marker stroke and the joke, very elegant explanations of everything. Favorite quote from this guy: "This whiteboard cleaner must be a mixture of Windex and LSD because after I've been accidentally inhaling it all class and I'm starting to feel pretty cosmic". Plenty of optional hw to prepare for tests

Augustine is honestly a really good teacher. He does great notes on the board and takes his time so it is easy to follow. A bit of a perfectionist with his handwriting at times though and he sometimes writes unnecessarily long definitions on the board. Labs are very easy, but they take a long time and you will have to stay after.

Has an amazing grasp of the concepts he is teaching. Pay attention and take notes in class and you have the test in the bag. Very helpful if you go to him for help. Labs are easy and most can be finished in class(at least in PH2010).

Does not respond to emails when asking for help. Lectures are long & only a handful of examples per chapter. Much time spent deriving formulas and discussing who madediscovered them (who cares). Homework is assigned daily and has to be delivered outside his office by a specific time. Assignentstests returned weeks after they are turned in.

He is a good professor if you already have some knowledge of the material. Instead of quizzes, he assigns one HW problem each night to be graded. Can be late to class. Lectures can seem very long. Especially when he is just going over theory. Examples are good. Fair but picky grader. Overall decent teacher.

The physics courses are very difficult at MSOE, but it is important that you learn the basics in PH2010 by taking a good professor.

Comment:
Make sure he's full time at msoe before taking him. He was part time when I took him and it was awful. He was late 70% of the time and taught like he was just going through the motions. We were way behind everyone else by finals week because he spent time on things that aren't in the curriculum anymore. Takes him forever to grade things also.

Spends time on derivations of equations when time would be better spent going over physics problems. Definitely knows what he is talking about and is a fair grader, although if you don't show all your work, he will dock you points. Big complaint: got my first few lab reports back 3/4s through semester. He is also chronically late

Comment:
The way he assigns is terrible. He will assign homework, but not give a due date, and he will not ask for them in class. Then, it'll affect your grade negatively. Also, he has no set point value for questions on exams. If you answer part of a question wrong, he takes off as many points as he wants, not equal to the point value.

Great professor. Lectures are useful yet not boring with extraneous information. Reasonable in regards to deadlines and due dates. Willing to help students understand material through examples and homework assistance.

Comment:
He's not a professor, he's a lecturer. He teaches at UWM, and it shows. if you're on top of the material, especially the homework, you'll do fine, but you won't be able to ask him questions in class, because he writes on the board for 20 minutes straight without a thought to student input. Expect a lot of unnecessary derivations.

I had him for PH2010 but he only did the lecture, another prof did the lab. He knows what he's doing and expects you to follow at his rate. If you keep up with the homework and understand it you'll be way ahead in his class.

Good teacher, knows his stuff. Speaks/writes fast, and a bit hard to keep up with. Take him if you have a decent background in physics, otherwise, be cautious. Labs are by far more fun then lecture, since he feels he can joke more, not to mention you can move around more.

This guy is arrogant, he will not admit he is wrong even when he is. He is an alright teacher but he makes labs more about your spreadsheet and statistics than physics. Easy class impossible final still got an A.
