Steve is a great professor. The material that he covers in his Minnesota History course is fascinating. Every day he basically gives a lecture but it is always interesting to me. I have learned so much in his class. However, there is a lot of reading involved. The readings are usually interesting though. Take one of Steve's classes!

Comment:
Steve is a bit intimidating, to say the least. He pushes his liberal agenda excessively during class, and he does not encourage independent thought (pretty much anything different than what he believes is wrong. Also, he is very disorganized and often times doesn't make much sense when rambling. Only positive is that he is a relatively easy grader.

Comment:
Before taking his course on 20th Century Genocides, I dreaded college history courses. Dates did not suit me well, and tests even less so. Luckily, papers were his means of testing our knowledge. I entered his course shy and quiet, and exited feeling confident with better tactics at discussing, and with more information concerning our world.

The course I had with Steve was the first history class that I didn't dread attending. He did a good job discussing the social impact of each topic we discussed, not just who, what, when and where.

Steve is a great guy. He encourages you in all your aspirations, gives great lectures that aren't the usual boring hist. lectures. He assigns really interesting books, and is open for all kinds of interpretation on them. He's wonderful! My favorite history class by far, he has a way of making you feel good about yourself and is a fair grader.

Steve was a very fair prof. Easy to talk to and wanted you to succeed. You get what you put into the class. At times the class was boring but he made it interesting. Often went on rants about wanting a Lexus. Weird guy but still pretty cool.

Very funny, VERY smart, and very big on truth, and the larger picture. This is especially useful in an intro Hist course because he helps develop critical thinking skills to use for the rest of your college career.
