He doesn't really care whether or not you are in class, he could give a lecture to an empty room and be content. He grades very easily on tests quiz and labs. He is a very shy guy, easily scared but very smart and is able to lecture well.

Most boring professor that I have ever had. That being said, it was easy to get a good grade. If you are looking to actually be engaged in class and learn something, don't take. If you just want a good grade and get through the class, he will be fine.

Seems to know what he's talking about , but doesn't often give clear explanation of what you're expected to learn. The lectures are very confusing and slow. Studying for tests can be difficult because you don't know what to study. That being said, he is a pretty fair grader, but I don't feel like I've learned much in the class.

He doesn't use blackboard so if you rely on that site then you're out of luck. All of his notes are done on the white board, which normally isn't much of an issue for me, but he only rights the formula and work for a certain problem down and any explanation of what is going on, he talks about. So you better be very good at writing you're own notes.

This is the professor you want for physics. The homework problems are identical to the test almost always, and the labs are graded very fairly. If it weren't for the 5 random quizzes during the semester (each worth 1%) that are determined by a series of coin flips, I honestly wouldn't come to class. The HW and notes here and there are all you need.

Dr. Mayer is a very smart guy, but his lectures can be dry. He's a perfect professor to take if you already know your stuff. Homework is optional. Quizzes are all random but easy. The tests are very easy too if you already know physics or you do the homework. Effortless A for anyone who has already has physics experience from high school.

Class is practically optional. I spent the entirety of this course on my phone, only studying the homework and reading the chapters a day before the test and did well. The lectures literally suck the life out of you, and the tests are only to see if you understand the basic concepts.

You basically don't need to go to class, because he pretty much just rambles and does practice problems. But, his tests are extremely easy. He gives 5 pop quizzes each worth 1% but they're super easy and he doesn't care if you're using notes or anything. He grades labs very easily. They were mostly informal, only two were formal.

Very smart guy! Class is a challenge, but as long as you make it to every class, keep up with the homework, and ask questions, you will pass! Seriously, Professor Mayer is super smart. Ask him anything physics related and he will answer along with equations.

Great for labs. If you put in a honest effort the lowest you can get is a B. Don't be sloppy and make sure to proofread.

If you can't take Olsson for a physics class, take this guy. Kind of boring and awkward in lecture but explains things very clearly. Homework is optional and if asked we will fully do whatever problem you want. However, tests and quizzes are based heavily on the homework. Do the homework and you'll do just fine in the class.

Pretty knowledgeable. Little easier but could back fire. He's great at teaching, but seems a little afraid of student? Pretty good prof though...

A bit dry and boring during lecture, but was able to explain things clearly. Exams are really easy and he gives a formula sheet for them too. I'd probably take him again.

He is terrible at conveying the information for the course. The only thing that makes his class worth taking are the easy tests. I had a similar physics class in high school, and this is the only reason that i understood the information required to pass.

Take this course if you already know basic physics and want a good grade. If you want to learn in depth take a different prof. All of the exam problems test basic concepts rather than applications
