If you work hard, participate, and do the assigned work well, News, Media, and Society is an awesome course to take. He mixes up his teaching style so it's not just a lecture everyday, and he assigns mostly interesting readings. His office hours were incredibly useful, and he's a very respectable professor.

SN is very intimidating during the first weeks. He calls upon you in class when you aren't ready. And if you don't have a good response, he will pressure you into a good answer with phrases like "Think again" and "you need a better answer". But that is why we love him. There is a lot of work for this class, but he is not an unreasonable grader.

I hated Nash! I can't beleive that people really like him. I got a C- in his class, my lowest grade ever. He acts like he enjoys his students, however, if someone doesn't agree with him, that person is toast.

The man knows exactly what he is talking about. The readings he assigns take much time and effort but his lectures and activities in class are extremely interesting. He also will help outside of class and loves getting to know his students. Tough classes, but take it to experience his personality.
