Comment:

Streeter was a really good prof for this course because he grew up in Boston at the time of the Vietnam War. He taught it from the Vietnamese perspective which was even better because you realize how messed up the American's really were. The only downside was that the tests and essays were hard. Easy to understand, but he is a really hard marker.

Worst teacher I've ever had. Seriously I still cringe when I hear his name. Basically made fun of my paper and when I took my time and went to see him at office hours. I was basically called stupid. He is very rude and never wanted to help me when writing my final historiography. Bad attitude and bad marking scheme. I do not recommend this teacher.

Comment:

Dr. Streeter is a good historian and professor. However, he seems to have a pathological desire to prove this to his students. Although his standards and expectations are extremely high, they are crystal clear. If you're looking for a prof to hold your hand and say everything's gonna be OK, keep looking.

Dr. Streeter is a great professor and academic. He is very approachable and is willing to go to great lengths to help students with papers. He has been a mentor to me over the past couple years and I highly encourage students to take his courses!

Streeter was a demanding, challening Prof. whose grading scheme is unwavering and just. His seminars were among the best I ever took, and the accusations of arrogance I find weird, he was always funny and even-handed when I dealt with him. his courses definitely improve as you advance in years, his Vietnam history course was amazing.

Dr. Streeter is not the easiest professor to have, but the role of the university should not be to lower its standards to teaching students who honestly have no business pursuing academic scholarship in the first place. Streeter is a tough cookie but he has every right to be. If you can effectively advocate for yourself, he will meet you halfway.

Streeter will be remembered as my worst prof during my undergrad at Mac. I took his 2ndyr class as an elective in 4th yr pol-sci. For a 2nd yr course, he truly believes it's something more. He was unaccomodating when inquiring about material during office hrs and lconsistantly lectured with arrogance. Take the class ONLY if he is NOT the prof.

I Found him to be an excellent teacher. Very knowledgable about Latin America and he definetely avoided being over bias against the US, and its very common for everyone to blame the US for everything thats ever happened in LA. He is very open to questions, the class followed a very organized chronological sequence and there were NO documentaries.

Great proff! Very opinionated and leftist, but jutifiably so. Anti-American yet I did not find so much to an extreme. Many say he was a hard marker, but I've had much harder. Over all a great proff to learn from but not to have to deal with.

Very poorly organized, only lectured about half the time and we just watched documentaries the rest of the time (the specifics of which he includes in the exam!) The assignments were the most highly criticized pieces of work I've ever had, with not one single positive comment. This course could have and should have been so much better.

streeter is very knowledgable, but you can barely hear him when lecturing. he does give you the questions for the midterm and exam but is such a BRUTAL marker. He also does not seem to care about helping you as a student. if you can avoid him....do so!

A great lecturer, very knowledgeable, and approachable, in spite of what people have said. Yes he's anti-American, but he also is American, so doesn't that say a lot? Yes, he can tear you apart in class, but don't say ignorant things...I was in 3II3, and people didn't make the brightest comments!!

Had him as inquiry prof as well as large class; was perfectly approachable and helpful in former. Might just be large class sizes. Yes, he has an opinion, but everyone does. at least he doesnt hide his bias. and of course he will defend it - wouldnt you?
