I've been going to Jackson College for two years now and in that time Steve has been my favorite professor out of all of them, by far. One thing that I really liked about his class was the fact that he provided a course packet that provided all of the material that the course covered as well as study questions for his exams. He is also very funny.

Professor Thurlow is adorable and funny. He thoroughly enjoys sharing his love for the material he teaches with his students. Thurlow does his best to engage students in learning, takes his time to ensure the material is understood, and is pretty funny. I would take him again in a heartbeat!

Professor Thurlow is a smart man with an obvious passion for microbiology. He makes the lecture material interesting and is also quite funny. Lecture is clear and follows the outline, and as long as you study there will be no surprises when it comes test time. It also is clear that Thurlow cares about the success of his students.

Micro is already hard as it is and he makes it even harder with his poor teaching skills. He tends to go far off topic and it's hard to follow along in his course packet. I make flashcards for every term he provides and study them until I know them but still manage to fail exams. There's students in this course with 4.0 in A&P but are failing micro

Mr. Thurlow is on the paranoid side when it comes to cheating and he DOES NOT like cell phones. He does not test on what he doesn't cover. His outline and study guide will help you 4.0. He has an enthusiasm for micro and does try to joke a little. His sense of humor is a little odd. Don't be a bum student and you won't have an issue with him.

Fantastic professor! He has a very unique goofy yet amusing way of lecturing but seriously knows his stuff at the same time. Show up, listen, take notes and participate and you shouldn't have a problem at all!

I have taken about 10 classes here at Jackson, he is by FAR the BEST teacher I have ever had. He NEVER tests on material that he hasn't covered. He keeps lectures interesting and he is funny! Anyone who thinks he is not a good teacher is a retard and they must be a bad student... no offense. if you take notes you will easily 4 point it.

Professor Thurlow jumped around a lot; he always went off on tangents, but that was the one thing (besides lab) that kept the class interesting. All tested information is in the course pack. I didn't even have a book throughout the class, and I got a 4.0. He is nice, but not in your face. Overall, I recommend him.

Seems to focus on STDs and how they affect the femal anatomy. As it is a course designed towards nursing, I expected to learn more about MRSA, Cdiff, TB...also he is incredibly disorganized, jumps around and tests you over material he hasn't covered even after he says it is not on the test.

Awesome teacher! I already have an interest in Zoology, so I had no trouble following his lectures. He used many different methods of teaching and really knew his material well. He graded fairly and was always in the same good mood. I would recommend him to anyone who has the desire to learn.

He was very helpful through the whole class and usually very clear. Though I suggest that if you want to be treated as an adult (or at least not like a 5 year old) try to find a different prof for this class.
