Had him for Chinese & Japanese History and he was alright. Seemed very passionate about the subject matter but his teaching style needed some refinement. His exams are hard and mostly essay based but he does grade fairly. Very popular with the female students because of his looks.

I thought Fuchs had such great ideas and was realistic. The PC comment is inaccurate. Fuchs is a great teacher and I wish he had stayed in Stony Brook to teach a few more classes. It is a shame I only got to take one class of his.

One of the few instructors I've come across who seems to actually enjoy teaching surveys, he always seems to put forth a great effort to make historical themes come alive for students.

He's a weirdo. Not that bright, has some pretty offensive ideas that aren't very PC. Creepy vibe, boring class. Did get an easy A though.

A great instructor.Puts together varied and interseting lesson plans and displays tremendous interest in his subject field. Utilizes many different forms of cultural materials to illustrate historical periods in chinese history.

Talks very slowly. Sorta boring. Unreachable when needed most. Seems to grade papers more for proper english structure rather than content.
