He is so clear and direct, and so committed to student learning! Also, his sense of humor is endearing, and he is very honest about what he is looking for and how he grades. Classmates in my MBA cohort all loved him, and I definitely recommend him.

Professor Hansen is one of my favorite teacher from GWU MBA program. I don't know whether those who commented him negatively have really dedicated in his class. But to me, it's unfair to comment him inaccessible outside of the class. He's well-organized, lots of quiz, and you have to think through all the concepts to get an A in midterm and final.

Comment:
Prof. Hansen is a bit nerdy, but a great professor. His tests are great because they are hard enough to make you think for a while even if you know the material. In GW's MBA program, that means that some of the students don't do so well, which is a rare (and necessary) thing for this program. He is also very available to students when needed.

Great professor - really took the time to help when confused with managerial accounting concepts. I had never had managerial accounting prior to this class and he helped clear up the loose ends. I aced the final.

Professor Hansen is extremely organized, which I very much appreciate. Each lecture is outlined in the beginning of class and copies of lecture notes are provided. Pop quizzes and tests are open book/note, but somewhat difficult. I would recommended his class to anyone that prefers a structured class.

Prof. Hansen is a nice man and very responsive to e-mailed questions, but gives tough pop quizzes and exams. He won't fail you if you make a good-faith effort. Make sure you thoroughly understand all concepts that appear on the practice exams. Don't bother doing the problem sets or cases--they are extremely time-consuming but are are not tested!

He barely uses the textbook and to make it worse his lectures are very unclear and all over the place. He can be very innapropriate at times too- I won't get into those details

avoid him, doesn't want to help students learn- if you don't get it in class, you can forget about getting help outside class. Midterm is extremely hard, open book and open note only due to severity of the test. Pop quizes, hard to interpret test questions.

He's a great professor--if you pay attention in class and attend lectures you'll do fine. His midterm isn't bad at all however the project takes A LOT of time to complete, he's really helpful if you visit him outside of class.

At first the class seems easy, so no one drops. The midterms actually are not difficult, if you memorize the 10K he gives you. They offer a way to beat the curve. However, if you want to be in 5% of the class with solid A, be prepared to devote your life to the insane group project that really begins midsemester - it's the frustrating work ever.

The semester long group project is a nightmare but there is no final exam which is nice. Choose your group members carefully from the start and expect to pull all nighters throughout the course.
