Actually, this guy is not only bad at teaching, he can't do research. The school gave him a tenure right away when he came in, and he couldn't get any grant funded. So although he came in as a full professor, he is now an associate professor and lost his lab spaces. The school cannot get rid of a tenured professor, so we are stuck with him.

I don' think it's right that most Human Phys majors need to take this guy at least twice to get their degree. Ugh and a half. So boring. He's not even kind of interested in what he's teaching. Also, why does he laugh occassionally for no reason? Awkward!

So I have a dirty little secret. I actually think that Lewis isn't all that bad. Ok, so he doesn't communicate well. He's incredibly socially awkward. And he cares about his class as much as we do. That's why he sleeps through guest lectures as well as berates the lecturers.

eh, he's pretty damn boring and not extremely clear, but if you read the material and grab his slide notes you'll be ok. I mean, he basically just reads the slides to you in lecture.

The worst that Sargent has to offer. Avoid him if possible. He is the most unenthusiastic, dull, and disappointing professor I've ever had. To do well in this class, pay close attention in lecture and just study his slides. The reading is pointless.

No offense man, you look great on paper, lots of publication, plenty of education, great lab guy...but get out of the classroom. He is a prime example of why science classrooms need dedicated professors and not a bunch of researchers who can't teach and are only there to bring in grant money to the University.

teaches in the most boring way possible, never answers questions clearly, lectures dont help at all, exams are straight out of the book but are very detailed in unimportant minor areas that you dont learn much about. lectures are useless to come in early, take the print out of the slides and leave class before you fall asleep

Terrible class. Lectures straight from his slides in the dark. The class either does not come or falls asleep. Exams are too detailed and confusing and he won't clarify. Also failed to show for office hours or was extremely unhelpfull. Lab will help your grade imensly if you put in the effort!

Sucha horrible teacher that I want to repeatedly stab myself in the eye with my pen as I write my notes.that is if Iam conscious enough to take them or when Iam not staring at his eye twitching every second. Office hrs.- Not helpful because he was checking the clock every sec and worrying about his precious car being ticketed.Material-interesting!

Poor teaching skills. Potentially a nice man, but when it comes to conveying information for students to retain, he is simply awful, which is a shame, since the class topic is both interesting and applicable to many health professions.

It could be an interesting class, but the prof is a terrible lecturer and not helpful with answering questions. No text, just babbling. The only reason that Cardipulm Pathophys was a good class was because Lewis had more than 1/2 the classes taught by excellent researchers who have the ability to communicate clearly.

Great subject for a class, but the material could be presented in a clearer way. Exams are NOT straight-forward, no book is used (though 100's of pages of research papers are assigned) which when coupled with confusing lectures makes this class impossible at times. Too bad.

Class is very easy because he goes over the same information over and over again; however, by the time the the test comes around, you barely have to study. Stress free information gathering type of class...my favorite kind.Gives fair exams.

Of all the classes taught in undergraduate Sargent, these two are probably the hardest not because of its content but because of a failure of a professor to present complicated material in an organized fashion. He knows his stuffs but is unclear in teaching and unhelpful during office hours.

A horrible lecturer who spends the class time reading off slides he stole from the book he claims he hates. Can give fair exams but instead, often gives confusing, unintelligible exercises in bad writing. He is generally an ass with no social skills an

Boring lectures. The material's interesting, but who needs class when he lectures directly from the book and reads off slides that you can print offline.
