He's a great teacher. His lectures tend to be all over the place but as long as you follow along and take notes frequently, you'll be just fine. His grading is pretty straightforward and he gives a good amount of EC opportunities.

Professor Noll is by far the best teacher I've had at UF! He is very knowledgeable and is always willing to explain further or offer feedback. He also makes class very entertaining. I had it in the morning but didn't even mind because it's fun to go to his lectures. I didn't think I would enjoy a history class, but because of him I am taking more.

Favorite professor at UF. Not even a history major and going to sign up for another one of his classes. I had him online and he's more than willing to email you/ meet with in person to answer questions. If you take detailed notes on his lectures and study the study guide you'll get an A. Also gave an easy EC project that bumps ur final grade 4% pts

Great, interesting lecturer. Writes a lot of messy, sort of random notes on the board, so you need to just take really detail notes based on what he says. His exams are all essay and short answer. They are hard and harshly graded, so be extra prepared. Usually two chapters a week to read. Not many assignments,so each exam/paper REALLY affects grade

I have never been into history but Noll made it so interesting. The exams are difficult but if you study you'll be fine. I only read the textbook enough to write the paper and to know a little bit for the exam. Otherwise, I just attended class, took notes, and studied those. His pop quizzes are based on material already discussed and are very easy.

Best Professor I have had at UF, thus far! Prof. Noll is absolutely hilarious and makes an effort to keep the lectures interesting. He is super understanding and lenient on certain things if you talk to him about any issues. He does not post lectures online, so going to class is a must if you want to learn/get notes.

The lectures are pointed but can be lengthy and boring to get through. Prof Noll is so unclear when it comes to assignments and how he grades things. I got a bad grade on the midterm because he was expecting something that I was unaware of and it messed up my grade for the rest of the class. Email him questions so you are aware of what he wants.

He is very wacky. He tries to make the lectures fun, by being odd, but he does not annunciate well and scribbles random notes on the board. With already limited interest of the subject, he is extremely difficult to follow. Unless you take extremely detailed notes, they will not really help you either.

Doc Noll is the absolute man. If you're at UF and need to take a history class, find a way to make it one of his. Attendance isn't mandatory but you'll want to go to his class both for entertainment and because you definitely need it to pass his quizzes and exams. Lectures are hilarious and makes history extremely interesting. Would take him again.

Noll is hands down the funniest professor I have ever met. He has a bold, rough, but witty personality that initially intimidated me but quickly won me over. I feel like I have learned a ton in his lectures, but they're amazingly entertaining. He really involves you if you participate and cracks jokes constantly, but knows his stuff very very well.

An absolutely AMAZING professor. I've never been a fan of history but Noll makes his lectures so interesting. Hilarious if you like sarcastic/dry humor. Pop quizzes in discussion classes. Not super heavy on textbook readings; most exam material comes from lecture and (short) supplementary readings. Take notes in class and you'll pass. Easy.

LOTS of reading that you must do to pass with a decent grade. Part of the exams are base off the reading, and the paper you'll have to write is based on the readings. By the end of the class you'll have read three entire books (not including the textbook). If you don't like reading just take another class. Dr. Noll is a very good lecturer however.

One of the absolute best professors I've ever had. His class can be tough if you don't read the textbooks and don't show up, but as long as you show up, you'll be in good shape. He's hilarious and makes US History really interesting and easy to comprehend. Would take him again 10 times out of 10.

This professor is hilarious!!! He makes the class so much fun. I had it early in the day, and never missed despite how tired I was because he makes the class so much fun. I am not even a history major, but I would take another of his classes again. This class was fairly easy as long as you showed up and paid attention.

Professor Noll was the first professor I took at UF and I am so happy about that! Going into this course (The Making of Modern America), I thought I knew a good amount about US history. I was wrong! We went over ALOT of material but it was very interesting. You do have to write papers but he is ALWAYS willing to help you and look over rough drafts.

Dr. Noll is very interesting and overall and amazing professor. However, you'll have to do a good amount of reading, and write a paragraph response to hand into the TA's. I made the mistake of not going to class so I missed a few quizzes. Despite a decent workload, I recommend taking this class if you actually care about history

One of the best professors I've had so far. It's a class where you LEARN rather than memorize, meanwhile very engaging. My TA was also fantastic. It's a lot of reading but it all has a higher purpose. I would highly recommend this professor

Best online lectures I've ever had, and I've taken quite a lot of online courses. Lots of reading/assignments, but they help cement the material; take good notes, review frequently throughout the semester, and you'll do great. He doesn't expect memorization of trivial information; he focuses on important info/events in US history. Born a teacher.
