Comment:
Dr. Peck's ethics class seemed easy and great through the first month, but as the semester went on his lectures turned into less of a "what is ethical" to a "what does Dr. Peck think about the subject" class. It is not a very difficult course, but he is a real pain to deal with. Most useless class I have taken, and he is a very strange fellow.

Dr. Peck is a brilliant individual, but his passion for ethics didn't result in a fascinating course. Many of our lectures were boring and dry, with occasional bouts of touching on interesting topics. The weekly writing assignment is a breeze, and the TAs help you prepare well for the final and research paper. Easy class? Yes. Interesting? Depends.

Peck is so funny and genuine. He's been through a lot&has great stories&solid perspectives. There's readings with a page paper&a quiz due every week. The readings can get long but they're still interesting. The TAs are great! Getting an A is totally doable- what is expected is very clear. I LOVED this class, you'll be a better person for taking it!

He's a nice guy, and has some interesting perspectives. However, he has a tendency to forget to talk about the main part of his lecture and goes off on a random tangent. That being said, he was funny and his class was actually very easy. I got an 80 on one of the big papers and still easily pulled an A in the class.

The class was interesting and had some fun topics. But his instructions on the papers you have to write are really vague. And working things out with Dr. Peck is a pain. PS chose a easy topic for the research paper

Dr. Peck is by far the best professor at BYU. He brings stories to life and is fascinating to listen to. His stories are as good as the incredibly brilliant books that we writes. If you haven't read his books, you are missing out on an adventure in your mind like no other. "A Short Stay in Hell" is an all time favorite. You won't put it down!

Class was pretty much useless. He's an interesting guy, but it was pointless to go to class, even though it was mandatory because all he did was talk about his opinions, which he tested us on later.

This class is great! Much more eye-opening than I thought it would be. Dr. Peck led great discussions and got us thinking. The TA sections and discussions were great too; I really liked figuring out my thought processes and talking over relevant issues with other students. There's some pretty dull reading and some test questions are kind of vague.

I can honestly say he's been my favorite professor here at BYU because I'm a graduating senior and have had a lot of them. Cares deeply about the subject matter taught and about his students and will go out of his way to meet with you and help you with anything. He's respectful towards everyones comments -- even ones that are truly absurd :)

Long class with even longer readings. Even though it is suppose to be an exploration into religion and the environment it often seemed like it was heavily focused on making the religions look environmental.

Dr Peck has the most awesome stories in the world. He also has a way of helping you to understand the complexities that exist in different issues. It was an enjoyable, informative class.

Dr. Peck is a GREAT teacher. The lecture part is very interesting-due to class participation and thought experiments. The lab portion(run by TA's) is really awesome. You spend the whole time discussing the issues you studied that week. A TON, I repeat, a TON of reading. You'll be easily reading 20-50 pages (if not more) a week.

Not that hard a class, but the professor can be a little confusing. Two tests, two larger papers, and then a one page paper every other week as well as weekly readings.

Good teacher, class not what you might expect though. Its more about learning critical thinking than about the actual issues, though you learn that too. You'll have to do a bit of reading for the class, too.
