Intelligent professor who easily explained the material, but the essay tests were challenging. Avoid if you cannot write under pressure or are not a good writer. I was constantly told I needed to explain more or further define my point. Like most USF faculty, he is one of the reasons why I attend another university.

Essay tests and tough grader; you don't have to read all of the readings, but make sure to incorporate something from readings into your answers if you want an A. Gives a study guide so read sections that will be on the test.

Definitely not an easy A. Attendance isn't mandatory but going to class makes all the difference in the world. I found the readings to be helpful in understanding lectures, but if you pay close enough attention you don't need to read everything. Expect to have to do work. Tests are essay but if you study well you can pass, I made A's on everything.

Pay attention to his lectures and you will pass with flying colors. He does give students extra credit. Don't talk in his class or he will kick you out. He is very anal about people talking in his lecture.

Empirical: Expect to spend several hours a week studying and deciphering his lectures. Unlike other professors for this class, Tauber makes it very math intensive. Advice: visit his office. He has a specific answer he wants to see, so ask for his help. The workbook is annoying, but dnt put it off! Class starts off hard but makes sense at the end.

He's a good professor. He makes it perfectly clear what you will need to know for the exams. It isn't mandatory that you attend, but it definitely makes the exams easier if you do.

Had Conlaw 2 with Tauber, He is a Brilliant Professor. You will leave Tauber's lectures feeling like you can argue a supreme court case, however you must take detailed notes and study them, otherwise you will get back an exam riddled with red with the phrase "too vague" or "what do you mean" all over it. If you plan on going to law school take Tauber

Like those before me said, go to class and take your ****ing notes. He uses all the examples in the universe and reduces the most complex concept into something children in grade school could understand. He is very detailed but merciless, he will not pity you for not being a good student. Excellent teacher.

You have to go to class every day, there are no excused absences. He does not give multiple choice tests in 4000 level classes and you definitely need to study hard. But he does give you a study guide 2 weeks before the test and encourages you to email your answers so he can critique them. All in all, a great professor but not an easy A.

The other comments for POS2041. Just take good notes. You don't need the textbook, unless you are interested in the subject or want more detail about a certain topic.

Very good teacher, really knows his stuff. He is more than willing to help and gives review guides for test, just make sure you study the review guides and you should do fine. Coming to class definitely helps. I enjoyed his lectures. He doesn't allow talking and food in class. I appreciated the no talking rule.

Knowledgeable/helpful but to be fully prepared for the tests you must get extra help during office hrs b/c he is very detailed. Posts a review sheet but by the time you fill it out you realize you've included ALL your notes. 4 Tests 50 questions each (30 multiple choice, 20 true/false) must come to class to take really good notes to do well

For this class, you need to pretty much go to every lecture. He is kinda against mass-emailing the rest of the class to ask for notes, but students (of course) still do it. If you have someone who can take notes for you, then dont bother showing up. I rarely used my textbook, if ever. Exams are a little tricky though.

I am convinced that Tauber could teach at an upper level top tier university and not miss a beat. USF is lucky to have a teacher of his caliber for political science. If you're looking for easy, skip him. If you want to gain knowledge and improve your writing, take him. It takes work getting an A or B, but it will be well worth it.

Tauber is one of the best teachers I've ever had as far as his passion and interest for the subject are. Con Law is not a law class; be prepared to know the politics behind the cases. He is extremely helpful with the tests, which are short answer and one long essay, which he will scrutinize. Detail, detail, detail is the only way to get a B+/A
