Comment:
At first, Professor Attaway will seem stern and unapproachable. Her lectures are reversed, meaning you'll watch videos on the topic and then come in and practice. You get to use cheat sheets on her exams though. Yes the class/lab/discussion are all run by TA's who are really nice. She's nice as well you just have to talk to her. She warms up to you

Attaway is rude, unhelpful and unavailable. This class is entirely run by TAs and they're awesome but Prof Attaway is not. This is a "figure it out yourself class" and it is hard to stay caught up if you are confused. There's no way for you to access your overall grade in this class until after the semester, so there's no way to track your progress

The class format is really weird, and it makes it extra difficult. You're expected to teach yourself everything by watching lecture videos and reading the book, and there's no opportunity to clarify before you're quizzed on it. She is very condescending, rude and unhelpful. She sometimes shows up to class, but if you ever need her help, good luck.

Lots of work. Amazing professor. This course is famous for its flipped structure, with which you spend time in class getting better at programming, solving doubts and issues. The TAs are really great, and there to help. Classes are so engaging and never boring. Nice to say, it was fun to take. The online lectures are clear, and great.

While you don't interact with Stormy so much, I really enjoyed this class, and it was one of my favorites. The TAs are really good, and as others have said, that's who you'll be interacting with the most. The class is conducted in a "flipped" format, and while I was hesitant at the amount of homework at the beginning, I really enjoyed the class.

Attaway doesn't teach. You only see her in lecture and she doesn't talk unless you call her over. The TA's are your best friends! Be nice to them. There are only so many of them and that's not their fault. You will do the same thing every week. You will learn from everyone but the professor. It's not a hard class as long as you show up.

She doesn't really do anything you mostly just interact with the TAs who ares Sometimes helpful and sometimes really not. But if you watch the videos before class and actually go to class you'll be fine

When I first took this class I had to drop but when I retook it I aced it! If you want to pass this class you need to: read the textbook, go to class, and do the assignments/projects. The people you interact with most are the TAs and students in class they're helpful so ask questions if you have them. Make sure to read the textbook before class!

You have to buy the book she wrote. Not qualified to be a professor - too arrogant and doesn't know how to talk to anybody under 50 years of age. Messy unclear logistics of the dynamic of this class. A waste of everybodys time.

There's not all that much to say about Stormy herself; this isn't a lecture-based course so she doesn't do all that much. Instead, you watch her lectures/powerpoint slides outside of class and do the work in class. Personally I love the format but it isnt one where the professor does all that much. Be sure not to skip class, you'll fall behind fast

There is a lot of work in this course and Stormy rarely explains the concept before. Basically the entire course is based off of videos that she has pre recorded and you never actually get taught. You have a quiz and three worksheets every single lecture and a quiz every discussion as well as online homework and quizzes. It's an exhausting course.

This is one of the most useful classes I've taken. Professor Attaway breaks MATLAB down into learnable chunks and each time you learn something you'll find yourself using it immediately in your other classes. This class had a reasonable workload but you need to stay on top of it; there's something to do for class almost every day

Lecture material is covered online, so during your lecture periods you'll work on problem sets in small groups. The practice you receive from lecture and lab is where true learning happens. Your TAs will be the main sources of help, but finding the right solution on your own is the best way to augment understanding. Use TAs after all efforts fail.

This class was the best class I've taken at BU so far. The class setup is brilliant--it permits students to come to class with a solid knowledge of the day's task. The reading can be much at times and the labs can be hard, but as long as you keep up with the reading, watch the lecture videos, and practice coding, you should be fine!

The professor wrote the textbook used for the class and it is probably the best textbook I have ever used. The course material is extremely useful which makes it easier to learn. The class is probably the best organized class I will ever take.

MATLAB was so fun!!! Stormy's tests are pretty fair, and can be very straightforward if you study right. You get a cheat sheet on the exam, and the flipped-classroom setup really gets you involved in it.

You need to read textbook and watch the online lecture before you go to class, but actually for me, I didn't always read the book. Even though she does not lecture in class at all, the group works (be sure get a smart partner) in class are very helpful. If you know how to do most of the group work questions, you will most likely get a B+ or above.

The class is run in a flipped format. Students come with the material prepared and class is problem sets which are very helpful. TA office hours are very helpful. The class is run very well. Staying on top of the work is key. Try to complete the assignments and readings on time so you don't get behind.
