Comment:
The course itself covers a lot of material in 3.5 months but Stuart makes his exams short and simple and gives generous part marks for wrong answers. Sometimes the way he explains things do not make sense. He suggests specific problems from the textbook to practice, if you can do these questions without trouble you will probably be ok for the exam

I really liked Stuart, I find that you wont do well in this class if you dont come to lectures. He shows you how to do things step-by-step and you can apply that to other practice questions. His exam questions end up being 10 times easier than what you expect. Super easy grader.

I really like Stuart. Definitely agree he's not the greatest professor for helping you conceptualize material, but going through examples that you probably wouldn't do on your own is helpful, so if you can self-teach material no need to go to class. He is also more than generous with his marking on exams.

Stuart doesn't really know what he's doing in this class. Wastes half the class going over theory when he never tests you on it during exams. Other half of the class is spent on doing problems from the text, which he solves by hand copying and pasting the solutions from the text. Questions on the exams are not representative of what you do in class

Stuart is a nice enough guy and the concepts in this class are pretty straight forward. He takes his time working through problems from the textbook during classes. There aren't any surprises on the midterms. However, the final is much much more difficult and was a bit of a shock.

The concepts taught in class make sense and are generally easy to follow, but Stuart's exams are not representative of what is learned in class so, know everything inside and out to have even a hint of a chance in this class.

Stuart has to be the worst teacher, fumbles to answer clarification questions by students because he is simply copying down the answer from the text book solutions, has no idea about providing insight to students. went to see him for extra help and it was pathetic, if there was more room I could go through all the bad aspects of his teaching! Avoid

His tests are nothing like what you learn in class. Because of this I have to retake this class and delay graduation a semester. Avoid at ALL costs.

The stuff he does in class is NOTHING like his test. His tests are super difficult and contain things that he says we will not need to know how to do. He is no help at all and does not really teach, just reads notes off computer. Confusing and very lazy when asking for help. Not recommended.

the practice problems are no indication of what is on the tests, he spent a whole lecture before the test going over variances and then there was no variances on the test. His tests consist of only 3 questions yeah 3 questions on the third midterm the class avg was 50% he does not give partial marks

This class started at ~ 65 students, and at the last 2 weeks of class there were probably 25. Stuart tells you "the practice problems are no indication of what will be on the exam" - and he means it. He takes no time to make sure students understand, or clarify any issues. A terrible prof and I, along with many, refuse to take this class with him.

Since this was a mandatory course, I figured I had to take it. However, the first exam consisted of 9 chapters in just 5 weeks and I had felt I learned nothing from him. His ppt slides are pretty useless and he takes over half the class to do one example. I dropped the class, and he's the reason I'm no longer an accounting major anymore.

Very difficult course, but Stuart does a really good job of teaching the materially. It is apparent that he has a thorough knowledge of the course material and strong background in the subject. Stuart makes it easy to follow and understand while providing a good look at the real life practicality of the course. recommended

His tests are unfair and he refuses to give you any idea of what might be on them. You do a lot of case work, and your final exam is a case, but he never tells you how to break down a case or what he expects. I learned nothing, and am afraid I'll struggle through getting my designation. For his tests you have to teach yourself everything. Avoid him

Reads directly off the ppts and gives half an example before class runs out. Marks fairly on Case studies. A lot of group work! Many case studies, 2 hard mid terms cumulative with no direction, and 1 final which was a case study.

Completely useless prof. Avoid at all costs. Always says there is no right or wrong answer but obviously marks cases based on his opinion. If you don't mention what he thinks, you can't get an A. DO NOT take this class with him if you can avoid it.
