Pretty rough course- not because of the content, but because of his teaching. Thankfully I have taken stats before so i wasn't completely lost, but he confused some concepts that I thought I knew, and I really had to teach myself any concepts that I didn't know before. Not a great professor and not very understanding/accommodating.

It's tough to take a course from a professor that is clearly an expert on the content, but yet is pedagogically underdeveloped. In a course like Biostatistics, where concepts can often be illusive, an instructor's clarity and attention to helping students cultivate a useful methodology is paramount. Dr. Srivastav is deficient in both aspects.

Sudesh is such a nice man and very easy to talk to. However, I did not learn much in class and had to go to the TAs to help me with the homework. His exams are fair as long as you study and know the material. He wants his students to do well, and I'm pretty sure that he curved my final grade by at least half a letter grade.

Had to teach myself all of the concepts. He is often all over the place and poor at answering questions. I have never taken stats before which definitely put me at a disadvantage because I was not able to learn from him. A sweet man, but this class was not taught well.

Sudesh's class is so straightforward, especially for those who have taken a stats course already. Lectures are never more than 45 minutes and tests are very fair. No cumulative final, just 4 exams!

The material is hard and boring and he tends to ramble on and on for an hour and 15 minutes. It's not necessary to go to class except to hand in homework which is assigned weekly. The homework is graded harshly but I'm pretty sure that's the TA. The tests are curved a lot, I'm very bad at stat and haven't received lower than a B.

What an awesome guy. He's super funny and while the material is hard, he curves very well and is always there to help. Attendance isn't mandatory, but turning in homework is. If you have to take Biostats, take Sudesh.

Dr. Srivastav is incredible. He loves teaching and shows up everyday far more enthusiastic than anyone in the class. He takes his time and makes sure everyone gets the material. The only way to not get an A is to not come to class and/or never pay attention.

Extremely nice guy and funny (or at least he tries). Always available and happy to help. He prints out his slides and hands them out instead of posting them online, so you have to go to class. He takes the time to explain what things mean and give tons of examples. The tests are WAY easier than practice problems.
