Had this old hag for Fin Acc this semester. I have to say she is one of the worst profs I've had so far in my 3 years here. Her class is full of randomness when it comes to graded activities such as hw, test, and quizzes. She doesn't trust students and makes test and quizzes much harder and longer than they need to be. Avoid taking her if you can.

I hate to be rude but Emery isn't the best qualified to teach. She teaches her lesson straight of the power points and does not go back over key concepts. After "covering" a section be ready for a group activity so find good people. Tests come directly from the book, not the power points. She offers help but its spotty at best. Overall challenging.

Emery will work you hard. There are group projects where she randomly assigns you with people, which is a little inconvienent bc it leads to unfair work load bc random people can be lazy. She goes really fast in class but the Wiley Plus is a HUGE help. Don't skip on the HW.

Does not teach material, very brief intro to each chapter, expects you to remember everything, and immediately throws you into doing problems (where the majority of the class just sits there confused). LOTS of homework and test are random, online, take home, in class. Not hard to get a decent grade.

York college has by far the worse accounting program and prof! This teach cant teach! nice lady not a teacher! no set schedule for hw and test! does everything on the fly! Some written test some online so random! The online test can be easy since you can google 90 percent of the questions and find the answers! just avoid accounting at york!!!

Shes not that bad. The class is half boring and she gives a good bit of homework but i never bothered doing it. she collects just 1 problem from each section which is worth about 5 points each. The class was pretty easy in my opinion. You just have to put a little effort into understanding the concepts, but thats how it is for all the professors

I don't know why everyone complains about her. Accounting is generally not the most exciting thing. If you need to take accounting, she's the best one to take at York. Easy quizzes make up for her somewhat difficult tests.

Accounting is hard no matter who you have. But as a former accounting, now finance major who has taken a few accounting classes, I would have to say that she is not that bad, one of a best in the acct. department really. No very good at teaching but the tests are from the book, so study that. And the projects aren't hard and can help your grade.

HORRIBLE TEACHER!! Very unclear on what she expects from you with projects. Acts like this is the only class you're taking with all the work she gives! Quiz every other day. Wouldn't recommend taking!
