There was A LOT of work, but it was not too difficult, it gives many opportunities for points. What you put into the class is what you get - that simple. MUS150 is a great class to take to fill your fine arts requirement!

Comment:

This was a hybrid course with 4 mandatory speeches. Many of the homework dates were listed incorrectly online. However she recognized this and addressed it. Most assignments were writing heavy but her grading was fair. If you follow her guidelines on length, formatting, and content you will receive a decent grade for both homework and speeches.

This class was called movies but it should have been called writing about movies. You write, then you write about writing, then you write more. We saw 4 movies all semester. She totes seems like a fair grader. I would like to propose that teachers are held to the same standard on returning graded assignments as they demand in due dates.

The class was awful. She grades harshly if she does not like you. I knew from the start she was bad. If you have the chance do not take her. All she talks about is nonsense like purple dogs, pelicans, and monkeys on unicycles. Seriously dont take her. Classes run long. Over thirty minutes and makes you late for your next class.

On your first day Miss Mason seems like a great teacher. She's funny and is well spoken, but you'll slowly come to loath her. Her grading criteria is ridiculous, her tests are random sections of the book she never told you to read, and she's late to class every day, so in turn won't let your leaver early ever, and you'll get out later than it runs.

Took this class because online was required to go to class four times . very rude and does not get back to you on emails. My first email interaction with her came back full of grammar mistakesbut yet will rip up your paper for spacing. Assignments are required to be in on time or she will deduct points. do you not take if you can avoid her.

Terrible! Wish i can Drop the class if i didnt need it ! rambles on and on about nothing and expects you to know what youre doing. Thinks shes funny and it gets really old. She can be very rude. will not give you credit for attendance if you leave 15 minutes early after being there for hours. gives too many parts to a test that should be just one.

I took a HYBRID class. Most was online, but we had to come to the college for Orientation and our 4 speeches. I got a B in a subject I loathe- public speaking. So, Ms. Mason is a little bland, and she barely grades work in time for you to really know in which direction to go with your next speech BUT if you work hard you can get a B!

Extremely rude when you ask questions. Assignments (homework & forum postings) are clumped together and never graded. Quizzes are misspelled and always have grammar issues which makes them harder then they have to be. High homework volume doesn't allow you to prepare for speeches adequately. I strongly advise not taking this instructor.

Took the online speech class. All of the assignments would be clumped together and you would have 10+ assignments due within that period and never graded any of them. I only have 3 of the 4 speeches back and graded. She is unavailable and extrmely rude when you do actually get in touch with her. Unorganized & lacks public speaking skills.

She had a good sense of humor, but she's a horrible teacher. She only covered portions of the book, she didn't give you enough time to do the assignments, she didn't let you make up missed speeches, and she expected you to know all the material without ever reviewing it. I don't mind speech, but I hated her class, and she made the class DREADFUL.

She seemed nice at the start of the course, but I can honestly say she is the worst teacher that I have ever had. You will spend quite some time preparing speeches that will get ripped apart for every little thing. For example, I lost a whole letter because I was 4 seconds too short. Forget about getting her to email you back. She's horrible. AVOID

Nice person, but not a good teacher. Late to class almost everyday, and she talked about useless stuff for half of the class. Then she would yell because we didnt understand and all she yelled was Read the book!!! Anyway, i passed the class and didnt read one page in that speech book.

I have always done good in english classes, never received less than an A on a paper. I got a C for this class. it was a lot of work for a summer course. I would not recommend taking her class, she is very tough and requires a lot of reading.

I took the online course with Ms. Mason, and be warned: very writing intensive. You'll have to travel to main campus to give four speeches. They're not hard--as long as you learn something from the book and apply it to your speeches you'll do fine. Seems overwhelemed wich leads to disorganization sometimes.

tries to be funny but wastes time talking about what she ate for lunch. She requires you to memorize the book and take a ton of notes that you will only use for an exam. You'll research for 2 weeks for a speech that receives an average grade. I've been giving speeches at corporations for 10 years, & got a B+ from her.

She has an amazing personality; very smart, funny, and charasmatic. I will say that you must perform well while speaking, she is a stikler with outlines. All in all, it was a very good experience. I recommend!
