Comment:
Berkow is really interested in her students and cares a lot about what is going on in the classroom. Although she doenst take attendence,if you don't attend class she will ask you about it the next class. She tends to teach what she knows and brush over the stuff she does not know. Her explanations are confusing but the material isnt too hard.

Constantly messing up Chem problems. Has Ph.D in nutrition (for a good laugh to go her website). Confused fusion and fission. When told insisted "fusion is where atoms are broke apart". Mispeaking with alarming frequencey. ACTUALY Ex/ Hemoglobin "Homoglobo", Barbeque "Barbacle". She's nice, but she's got problems. "Barbacle"...

I like Dr. Berkow as a person, but it's sort of frustrating how she talks down to you the whole class and then screws up something herself. She's not mean or difficult, and she stresses over and over again that the class is not for science majors. She's also very good at the "society" part and tries hard to make everything relevent. Reccomended : )

She teaches like we're high school students - assigns homework daily, calls on almost everyone during one class period, and gives a lab report every week. She also gives a bunch of opportunities for a little bit of extra credit. The material is super easy; it's just a lot of tedious work.

The class can be funny if you have a good sense of humor about her - she can get ridiculous. Overall it is pretty frustrating, but not impossible.

Dr. Berkow posts all power-point slides on blackboard.. its really not necessary for you to attend class. Exams are a bit random--and no matter what she says--her study guides are not helpful. (if she even creates one) Read the book, you'll be fine.

Yes, she's weird but the biggest problems I've had with her class are the students in it. Will you all just shut up! If you don't want her to teach like you're in high school then don't act like you're in high school! (good class for non-science people)

She wore a feather boa with a lab coat! I really like Dr. Berkow. She was always very nice to me. Sadly, she cannot teach. She showed us an exponential graph and said it was linear. Easy class, though.

she's a nice person, but she's very weird and her manner of dress is quite odd. she says things that make you wonder how she teaches chemistry in the first place.

Nice lady, wants you to succeed, but she's just very confused herself. Her tests aren't that bad as long as you go to class and listen well. Her quirkiness and confusion can be entertaining at times. Good class for those who aren't good at science.

Lately she has been entertaining in class. Class is normally boring, but her mistakes are hilarious. The tests aren't too bad, plus the papers and labs really balance out the test grades. If you suck at science take this class.

Berkow is bogus. Easy way to coast through the 8 science credits needed to graduate from MWC. She can't explain well at all, but if you can't understand the material in this class, you shouldn't have graduated high school. Go to class and you'll get an A.

She can be nice but has absolutely no idea what she is doing. She will get confused in the middle of her lecture and leave her students even more confused than she is!

Oh come on guys, she is not that bad. It is a dread to get through her class, but she is not a chem major, she is a nutrition major. She is a VERY easy grader and if you know what your doing, you can pick apart her lecture in class.
