Comment:

Susan is a great teacher. If you follow her instructions and spend time to edit your paper, you will end up with the grade you deserve. She is available to help you edit your paper, if you really need it. Overall, although she isn't the easiest teacher, she is all around one of the better ones at Douglas College.

She used a marker to do her work for her, very unprofessional, nothing against her as a person but overall a hard marker. She tries to change your whole essay and is waayyy too picky. I do not reccomend her.

OMG class was nothing but a big debate. Essays were dumb, and it felt like she didnt want to be there. Try hard and you'll get a B (all i can say is EDIT EDIT EDIT, she'll catch you on everything!!!!!)

This class really helped me with my writing skills. I learned alot from the comments that she wrote on my papers. Also, she really knows her stuff and is always there during office hours.

horrible teacher ... gives essays to a marker to mark them.. then when you disagree with the markers marking, she has NO TIME to schedule an appoint to see you as you request a re-read. did do as well as i expected in her class... didnt like the group work either

BORING!!! Thinks everything has to relate back to gender stereotyping. Hard marker, but respects original ideas - with adequate support - over rehashed ideas. Takes attendance... boo! Her lectures are a waste of time. Group work helpful for poetry unit only. Too much group work.

Way to much group work for my liking. Hard maker. Takes attendence too. Don't bother unless you have some sort of love for english. and if you thought you could write fairly good essays, you'll think again after she marks them. Occasionally interesting lectures, but definitely a hard marker.

i like her as a person, she's very nice and willing to help out answering any questions you may have,the thing is..BORING! Three hours straight kills me. Maybe it's also the stuff read in class, but i find her class repetetive.Little lessons on stuff for essays we're done already at the end of sem.

Reading a book doesn't prove anything. However Susan McCaslin offers good insight towards understanding the somewhat boring titles in this class. She is quite fair, and very polite/approachable. Perhaps the only DC Lit teacher, who does not invoke paroxysm.

Great teacher and reknown poet. She gives you all the tools you need to get out of the class with a good grade. Put some effort into doing the assignments and you'll do well. No final!
