She is very direct when providing feedback which has come off as rude in class. She is all over the place. Doesn't give clear grading criteria or clear assignments. She doesn't pay attention when your presenting so not sure how she can grade appropriately. Good info from the class but she is kind of difficult to work with and doesn't answer emails.

She seems pretty stern at first but she gets a lot better as the course goes on, that doesn't change from her lectures being extremely long and painful but if you follow what her speech requirements are for the most part is an easy grader

She means well, but she is very boring and talks A LOT. She tends to get off topic and her lectures go on FOREVER! She also crams 4-6 chapters in one class. Three speeches and two quizzes. You have to do tons and tons of research. You have to work for it, but she is not to bad. As long as you do what you need to do you should be fine!

I took this class because I was required to do so. I enjoyed parts of it, but overall the professor's voice as grating and got annoying pretty quickly. She isn't too great about responding to emails, but she's pretty accommodating if you can get a hold of her.

I will do everything I can to never take her again. Although the class subject matter is useful, she is not. Her normal voice is yelling across the room. If you do an assignment wrong, then she will publicly scold and embarrass you in front of the entire class. She tries to mean well but just comes off as mean.

I will never take a class with her again. She was the meanest professor I've ever had. She gave no clear directions on assignments and then ripped them to shreds. Wrote on one of my assignments that it should've been thrown in the trash. Extremely mean woman. I don't recommend anyone take a class with her.

This prof is also my adviser. She is a tough grader but she cares about you- so whatever she can do to help she will JUST ASK. Loved this class she made it very easy to understand. Did not really use the book- tests are self explanatory- stick to the syllabus and be active in class and you will pass.

I am in the middle of the course and she is the worst professor I have experienced. Besides giving a heavy work load and helping us with the required work, she does not allow us to leave to use the bathroom or miss one class or you will have be kicked out. She gives us a quiz every week, with 8 chapters crammed into it. Do not take her class

If you don't like research, forget this teacher! The research is more important than the actual speech-giving. You will need a full detailed outline, tons of annotated sources, and that's before you do your speech(which she will rip apart). She's more concerned with the research protocol than she is with teaching public speaking.

Use the stupid word a lot to iterate what she deems not acceptable. Try's to cram a lot if info into. A class when asked for clarification she blew me off, just telling me exactly what I read and did not understand. Class was boring as hell and interview was pointless gave very little time to prepare for it only gave us 2weeks

This prof definitely has very specific expectations. She is easily derailed by questions, even though she crams 3 chapters into a single lecture some days. She was unnecessarily harsh and caustic with her feedback in some cases. May have irksome methods, but is a fair grader. Practice your speeches, include what she expects, and score your A.

I enjoyed her class. I wasn't too excited about taking public speaking, but by the end I was very glad I did. It was useful and I got a lot out of the class. Prof Miskelly is pleasant and interested in her topic. I would recommend her!

I love her! Shes so funny and easy to talk to and so clear about what she expects in all papers, exams, speeches, ect. 100% take her if you can she is one of the bestprofessors I have ever had.

She is very opinionated and rigid in her views, but at the same time is extremely open to students speech topics and does not impose her views on anyone else. She is VERY considerate to students needs and light-hearted, jokes around a lot, but expects you to learn at the same time. I'd take her again in a heartbeat.

She is amazing! She works with students and tells you exactly what to improvde. everything you need to know is in slides and bold in the book for tests. gives plenty of time to prepare speeches.
