You do not learn how to write a college level paper in this class. She wants to discuss conservative issues which is okay until you soon realize that you need to hold these beliefs to get a good grade. Not cool.

Incredibly nice, almost grandmother like. 4 papers and you pick two of them to put into a portfolio at the end of the semester. Grades fairly hard, but if you try and go to the writing center, a B or higher is easy.

Comment:

Grades are based upon her own system so there is no way to "better" you writing skills. Very conservative and grades papers that agree with her beliefs. Easy to get a B in the class, but an A is a pretty good stretch. The class removes all the methods to write a good paper,and rather have you ramble about your beliefs instead of concrete facts.

She is very narrow minded.DO NOT DISAGREE WITH HER.You don't know where you stand, her grades are based on how much she likes you or likes what you say in class.She LOVES to talk about her grandson and does not spend classtime teaching anything useful. 3 to 4 papers. Oh yeah her rhetoric comes from o'reilly.

If you want an easy class, deifnitely take her. If you want to learn something, dont take her. Classes are boring but you write four or five papers, and all of the topics are simple as can be. The grading is weird but you get used to it. If you want an easy A then for sure take her!!

She grades papers not based upon their quality, but based upon how much it improved on the last paper turned in. That might work if the class actually improved your writing skills... I have trouble respecting her ability to teach composition at a school where most teachers are experts at what they do while she can't even stick to a syllabus.

Goes off topic that is not related to subject, talks about her grandchildren and family a lot. When the subject is interesting to her, she spends a lot of time on it and does not explain her essays very well. Changes syllabus a lot because she goes off topic. Papers come back way too late and don't have a lot of corrections.

Boring lectures. A lot of times off topic. Always talked about her Grandchild and the Presidental Election. If you don't agree with her you are wrong. Took a LONG time to get papers back. She is a hard grader. I would not recommend her.

She is a hypocrite. Says one thing, does the opposite. She shuts down every idea if it conflicts with hers. She is very unwilling to help and is offended when you ask questions. Acts like a child not an adult. Doesn't return papers on time, changes the syllabus a lot, doesn't teach anything. Just off topic discussions, then suddenly a paper is due!

Extremely nice woman. A little crazy and definitly all over the place. Easy class. 5 papers turn 2 in for a portfolio at end of semester. Didn't learn an incredible amount but it's a gen ed. Nice way to get the requirements done. She is a really caring person and definitly there to talk to. Loves to talk about her grandkids. Would take her again.

this lady is all over the place...not clear on what she wants you to write about and writes the same comments on your rough draft as your final draft...she told me she didnt have a grading scale so i have no idea how i am doing in the class....shes ok, easy, but i never know what i am doing in the class..class is dull and boring.She is not helpful

She's nice enough, yes, but doesn't really think before she speaks and has a tenancy to really offend students. Discussions seldom relate to reading materials & it takes a long time to get essays back - you're writing the next one before you've gotten the rough draft back on the last! It's not hard but is incredibly dull.
