Comment:

1st time I took her for Gen Psych, I didn't like her. Once I met her and over the years while I've gone through a lot of physical hardships, I discovered just how nice and helpful she really is. Her classes aren't easy because she doesn't tolerate stupidity, but if you pay attention and talk to her, they can become very easy because she helps.

Such a nice lady! She's really into art and how psychology can be used to explain art. This was an enjoyable class to take and she's really bubbly considering the class was at 8am. The papers are not too bad since they're opinion-based so you won't be bored to do them!

She takes attendance, even though she says it's not "required." Listening to her lectures maybe help for 1/6 of the tests, the rest is all from the textbook which she doesn't talk about. Her review sheets are at least 3 pages long, and words she's never spoken of. If you don't wanna teach yourself, don't take her. She's nice, but horrible useless.

AVOID at all possible! She is a very nice person but her lectures are TERRIBLE. she rambles on about topics that are not relevant or on the tests. She gave us a 5 page handwritten study guide for 12 chapters and more than half of the topics were not on the test! very disappointed, took a cognitive class in undergrad and it was so much more CLEAR

Honestly, wish I had her for more Psych classes. She knows her stuff. She cares if you're struggling, she tries to make it so you don't. Tests are based on lectures, but reading the textbook also helps. Very sweet and understanding professor. Would loveee to have her again.

She is an amazing professor. If she taight everything in Psych I would take it all with her. She is extremely helpful and so nice. She is passionate about psych and wants to share that love and understanding of the subject with her students. Test are based on lectures. She teaches what you need to know. Prof Petry is the sweetest lady ever. I had her for psych of perception. LIterally if u just read the chapters you will ace her tests!...she kind of jumps from one topic to the next but she really is a sweet teacher and very approachable! Her tests are completly fair..she curves every test so that all her students do well..DEFINETLY recommend!

one of the best prof that still teaches at adelphi university. she is very understanding and polite!!!! if you ever run to any kind of problem just ask her she usually has an answer and can diff help. if you wanna learn and have fun take any of her classes.

This is a difficult class but Petry is the best teacher for it. She is extremely helpful. I wanted to leave in the beginning but it is worth sticking it out. It is really interesting and she is great. I definitely reccomend taking a class with her!

I took psychology of perception with her and without a doubt it was the worst class I have taken at Adelphi. The class was so icnredibly boring and demanded so much reading; I dropped it within a few weeks. However, Petry is very nice and will do anything to help. She seems mean but she is just rather blunt and is a good person at heart.

Dr. Petry is very nice. However, her lecture style is far from succinct. Her lectures are very disjointed and have no clear flow. Important points and definitions are not emphasized and are stated quickly in an unclear fashion and then only once unless asked to clarify. This leaves the student with incomplete and insufficient notes.

She is funny, nice and definitely knows her stuff but the class isn't that easy. It was kinda here and there so it was hard to follow. It's a required course and she probably does the best at teaching it.
