Comment:
She was one of the worst professor's I've ever had for a class. A monotonous tone, and endless droning on about authors, and what they wrote ended up killing this class for me! Unless you want to be bored out of your mind, I would not suggest taking any class with her.

If you love the subject, you'll do great. I enjoyed all the variety she selected for the American Lit class. Don't be mean. She knows her stuff and isn't there to entertain. I'm not sure I'd like her for writing course, but the help she gives in explaining literature and film is excellent.

Dr. Scrivner is an amazing teaching, because all you have to do while in her class is your job. The job being; be there, pay attention, take notes and think about what you are watching or reading. She does not just tell you the answers but shows how to analyze your observations. She seems hard to approach but she would love to talk so no worries.

I enjoyed my class that I had with her. You do need to attend class and participate in discussion if you want a good grade. She gives sample topics for the in class writing's and actually uses them. She wasn't harsh in her grading at all. You do have to write though. Explains things well. Really teaches you how to become a better writer.

Although she asks questions for discussions during class, you have to figure out what she is thinking and discuss only that. Class can be boring, as she does not bring any new information and practically reads the text to you. But, her tests are cake if you take notes.

No wonder she looks at her hands. As a scholar interested in teaching, she would see more brains in her hands than in the faces of these willfully ignorant illiterates. With students this dumb, she probably wants to throw her hands up and quit.

She stares at her hands the entire class. She is insecure with herself and should not be teaching. In fact, why is she teaching, she certainly does not belong. She's boring and she grades really hard. Do not take her!

Definitely intelligent, just has a little trouble relaying that to her students. Show up, listen as much as possible, and turn in your papers on time and it's an easy A. She's super picky about syntax, just to warn you. And make sure your works cited page is done CORRECTLY.

She only talks about the works and types of literature that she enjoys. A survey course is supposed to "survey" literature, but her class doesn't really do that.

Didn't have prob with this prof for American Lit. Good teacher I liked her tests and I learned more in American Lit from her than I did in English Lit from another prof. I'll definitely take a class from her again.
