Definitely a little out there, but in the best way. She also loves to call people out in class (especially if she likes how your name sounds) but it's never malicious. She is very creative and loves group/individual projects. Also a super sweet lady who remembers things about you/checks in with you months after you've had her.

Professor Sweeney is a nice person, but that's about it. She is EXTREMELY picky(I got As on many of her papers but she still rephrased almost all of my sentences), and she loves to listen to herself talk. If you are into discussion-based classes, avoid her. She also ALWAYS keeps classes over their ending times -- it added up after a whole semester!

I enjoyed the class.She has a real critical eye on what she wants though;She has certain expectations on how she would like a poem interpreted or a paper written.As long as you meet her expectations you should be alright.I found her very helpful during office hours,if you want an A though,you have to work very very hard for it.Not an easy grader

Let this be a warning to anyone who thinks clearly: avoid this woman. I have heard of several people who normally get A's and cannot seem to get one on her papers. Several have said that they went to office hours, used her advice, and she proceeded to take points off of their papers -- for the exact thing she had told them to do.

Sweeney is scatterbrained, but very smart and a lot of fun. She likes to teach wierder stuff, not the stereyotypical English course--particularly into Poe, Faulkner and Dickinson. Her classes are great, and she truly takes an interest in her students.
