Comment:

Cannot stress enough how much time you need to put in on this material. One slip up and it's hard to get back on track so never miss a lecture. There are multiple quizzes and homework assignments so it is possible. The most positive thing about this class is how approachable and willing to help Suzie is. I wish she was as forgiving with her grading

Comment:

I think that because of how difficult the material covered in this class is, it tends to overshadow the teacher's performance. My experience with Susie was nothing but positive and I believe that she made every effort and accommodation to help students as much as they can. Would recommend this class if planning to take the CPA in the future.

Suzie's the best, not sure what the negative comments are from... She truly cares about her students, so much that she gives you free time to do the hw in class and lets you out early almost every class. Her quizzes can be difficult, but if you just memorize the flow charts and use logic you can get an easy A.

She tries so hard to seem nice and likable - talk to her for more than 5 min and you'll see how fake she is.. The materials are probably the easiest, but she makes it extremely dull and time-consuming. Avoid her at all cost. She's the worst as a person and as a professor.

I always passed my financial accounting classes but Suzie literally made it impossible to pass the class. Never actual had an exam but almost every week we had a quiz (mostly short answers) and if you don't actual practice in class and out of class, you'll fail. The homework aren't bad and make sure you don't cheat, she WILL catch you & report you!

Absolutely the hardest accounting class I've ever taken. The power points are not that helpful so you need to read the book, do the homework, and go to office hours for help. Suzie's tough but she knows her Acctg. If you participate and show her you care she will help you. That being said I probably learned the most from her.

I loved Suzie, not sure why she's getting so much crap on here but I am noticing a lot of course variety. 432, show up, do the work in class, little to no homework, little to no effort at all, pretty easy A, overall. Lectures are kind of pointless, a lot of overlap with auditing. Should be an easy A if you participate.

Had Suzie for 2 classes back to back last fall. She was BY FAR the toughest professor I had during undergrad. You really need to keep up with reading the book and constant homework assignments to do well, and actually have to study for tests more than 2 days in advance. But, having 472 with her will pay off BIG TIME when studying for the CPA Exam.

Susie is a really nice woman. 432 with her is a breeze. You do 90% of the work in class and the assignments are super easy. Pretty boring at times, some parts of the class are pointless, and she really doesn't teach much. Overall easy A.

Susie is a brilliant woman and she knows her accounting well, but she speeds through her lectures at a pace that makes it hard to keep up. Her online lecture notes are so vague that you are forced to read the book if you want to survive. Her exams are 70% open-ended fill in questions , so be prepared to know the material well. Also, exams are tough

I have had Suzie for multiple accounting classes and have gotten A's. Her classes are HARD, possibly my most difficult at Penn State. You must do the readings and the practice problems MULTIPLE times. If you are a serious student and want to pass the CPA, take Susie. If you are a finance major looking for a blowoff class, you are going to fail.

Literally the worst teacher and class I have ever taken in my entire life. Not only was the material extremely tough, Suzie does not know how to explain a single topic clearly. Very smart lady, very terrible teacher.

I don't get these negative comments. I found her really approachable and nice. Class was mostly busy work and her lectures are kind of confusing at times but she is more than willing to help in class and office hours. She can get impatient but that's just her personality I guess, just don't push her when she is in a bad mood and you'll be good.

She gives like a ten minute stand up comedy routine before every class to try to relate to us and seem chill, but everyone hates her. She snaps at students for asking reasonable questions. She just teaches for like 5 minutes every class then leaves you to do the homework that is so difficult. You need to work in groups to do well.

One of the worst professors I've ever had. She's a nice person but assigns impossible homework she calls "easy" and "grade boosters" when she doesn't even teach what's IN the homework. Impossible to do well in this class even if you read everything/study like crazy. She's UNclear and does NOT know how to teach at all.

Will not help you if you are about to graduate. She says it is not her M.O. Have to take another semester of this class over the summer because of her. Study your but off if you have to take her for this class because if you do bad on the exams it really is the end.

Very difficult class. Suzie is a great professor and very nice lady but a very tough teacher as well. Make sure you know exactly how to do problems before exams. She ends of curving a little at the end to help students out but the class is very difficult so be prepared.
