Boring class, she is nice but instead of knowing multiple new ways to do things, you will have to do something a specific sub-optimal way. For instance instead of using ctrl+c to copy you would have to use the right click and then copy for the exams or you're wrong. The rest of the compsci department is amazing once you're past this roadblock.

Unclear Homework Instructions. Written Tests. Terrible at Teaching in General. She pulled me out of class to lecture me on how I've been 'cheating' because I've used techniques she hasn't personally taught. She couldn't even help me on Homework, She didn't understand it!

For being a computer professor, she makes her class as convoluted and backwards as possible. She has instructions on eagle, unrelated assignments on ITLAB, and she lectures about different subjects that don't pertain to homework or tests. Confusing/unorganized. Yelled at me for showing her an alternate way of getting into ITLAB. Her way or highway.

She has the ability to teach well, however she talks to us like we are children. She rarely replies to an email, making the homework a lot less learning and hands on. Directions have been unclear on many things and if we know a way to do something that we learned in another class we cannot use it until we have learned it there.

Slyvia is extremely boring to listen to but the class is easy. I've hardly tried and will end up with the B for the class so it really isn't that bad. However, it is finals week and not only do we have a final, we also have a two chapter exam as well. Who does that? She also shows really pointless videos that don't help in any way

Overall a pretty easy class. You take the quizzes online as well as the homework, and are allowed multiple attempts. Lectures are prone to get a bit boring, but she makes it pretty clear what you need to know for the in-class tests. I used the textbook mainly as review for tests and it helped a lot.

Easy class. The key is just to not get behind. Online quizzes are short & easy, and you can take them multiple times to get the best grade. The tests are in class but online and multiple choice. Some material on tests is not taught in class and not on the quizzes, so you may need to use the book for that. I never used the book though. Boring class.

Finals week, I turned my review in FIVE days early and she gave me half off since I turned in the wrong file on accident. She was very rude about it as well. She shows boring videos that I feel like mostly don't pertain to the subject and it's a bore to sit through her lectures. Take her class only if you need it. It's a pretty easy class though.

Very qualified teacher, And certainly a master of her craft. Extremely knowledgable and brings interesting topics to class. Workload is heavy but class was easy for me. Her syllabus and curriculum are very organized and concise. Would recommend her to anyone wishing to continue with CS or anyone sincerely interested in the class. Easy A? Maybe not.

I enjoyed having a class with this teacher, she is clear, and very helpful. Her style of teaching might be a bit boring if you have no interest in computers, but the home work is easy and she is an understandable person when it comes to issues with work and home. Not much book use, but you need the book for the code for Myitlab.

Had her for my CIS 102 class and never had an issue with her teaching. Shes a very nice lady, and willing to help whenever you have a problem. I did find the class to be really boring though. But that was because of the content, not the teaching. Most of the assignments she hands out give you step by step instruction, so it was not difficult.

A very nice teacher! She really knows her stuff and is willing to help when you need it. The homework mostly follows the book and her lectures, so it isn't very hard, though sometimes time-consuming. Make sure to do it, though!

She is a very intelligent woman in the Information Techonology field. I think she would be better off teaching more advanced classes because some students have a hard time relating with her in lower level classes.

While I like this teacher as a person, I hated her class. There was a ton of pointless homework and it was very confusing to figure out what she wanted due and when. In class she has a tendency to use jargon, which is tough if you don't know what she saying. She knows her stuff though so if you ask a lot of questions she can & will help you.
