Comment:
The Dean is a highly intelligent man. But take someone else if you can. He rambles on and on, often going off on tangents. You never recite. He should stick to advocacy and let others teach law classes.

Dean Treece truly cares about the students at STCL and the advocacy program. In fact, he cares so much about the advocacy program that he doesn't put a lot of effort into teaching Con Law. I still managed to do well in his class by reading off of the Internet, old outlines, and the Langdell sessions. He tells you what is on the test, which helps!

As much respect as there may be in this school for Dean Treece, I felt my educational experience was not the best in his class. He may be great @ coaching our BOA teams but sitting in a classroom for 1.5 hours (he often even goes over the time limits) & hearing a professor speakabout his daughter, the small town that he came from, etc is not good!!

Professor Gerald Treece is an outstanding teacher, excellent communicator, and a true gentleman. If you have the privilege of attending South Texas College of Law like I did, attend his Constitutional Law and/or Torts classes.

I loved this guy--nice to talk to a handsome, tall silver haird man with blue eyes....I took this class approximately 10 years ago. I was the first to be called to recite a case--I was up there for an hour--possibly because he learned something from me, too or maybe I was hot to look at as well--afterall I was a size 6, 5'7 nice body. 82 on exam

Awesome Guy - scored one of top grades. Read Chemerinsky, Emmanuels, E and E ---- and only read past student outlines to check against my own stuff a week before exam - scored A or higher (don't want to say which)

Dean Treece is awesome. Period. He's awesome. But, like with any class, you have to walk in with the attitude: "This person has a whole lot more knowledge, experience, wisdom and intelligence - I came here to learn." If you do that, you come out of a Dean Treece course a better human being than when you came in.

Love this man! Lots of stories. Go to Langdell and listen carefully in class for his "questions." I just wish I had started on them earlier and memorized more. Overall, lives up to the legend.

For of of his 1L students, and others who have not had him. Take him up on the Appellate Advocacy class. Its a great way to pick up an extra hour, its pass fail, come if you want attendence policy, and a great experience when the competition roles around. I recommend this class to all.

alphabetical recitation, you'll probably say about 5 words before he takes over. One of the easiest profs out there, but his class was at times really dull. I wouldn't reccomend buying the book, but take good notes and you'll do well.

I loved Dean Treece - didn't learn much from him but his class was easy and entertaining. Basically just story time - made us laugh. Seriously never read and entire case....used Emanuels and it was perfect - just write down the exam questions he gives you and coast through.

his lectures were all over the place! no doubt he's a brilliant guy and knows his constitutional law down to a T, but he forgets which audience he's teaching to (i.e. law students in an intro course) needless to say, the final was ridiculously easy, and he will drop heavy hints as to which questions he'll ask on the final

Lectures are interesting, funny, full of wisdom, and insight into current events. But as far as providing insight for the exam, worthless! Get a good torts outline, read the cases anyway, sit back and enjoy. Treece is one of a kind! You will NEVER forget this guy! A STCL legend!

Con law and Torts. Man this guy is a bag of wind. Stupid stories and no teaching. Waste of time except we could study while he told stories. Clearly teaching is not his forte.
