I took Interm. 1 and 2 with Ryu. I learned quickly that if you want help, you have to ask for it (during office hours, obviously) and KEEP asking until you understand the concepts. Keep asking until he explains it a different way or goes all the way back to the basics, if thats what you need. He is totally willing to do that, but you have to ask.

I took Intermediate 1 and 2 with Ryu, generally the course is hard by nature, even though I took both online, the materials/note were easy to understand, self explanatory. he gives good a mount of extra credit in each exam. he also gives good study guide, also most similar to the exam with few difference. especially part two of the exam.

This is my second time taking this class with Professor Tae Ryu and the studying material for the course never prepares students well enough for the exams. I have ran out of options with my study tactics. Although I have tried several different study methods and I have studied the requested 10 hours a week religiously, I am still failing the exams.

Took Intermediate II online. His homework and tests are very hard. I spent good 10 hours weekly and I understand all the concepts and works yet somehow he still reduces a lot of points on my homework. You have to do exactly the way he wants you to do on the homework but the problem is he does not teach. His tests are super tough.

Instructor does no actual teaching - simply assigns readings - so get ready to teach yourself. If you had trouble in prior accounting classes, I would find a tutor if taking online. Went in to review a test with him and he seemed very flustered and uncomfortable and had trouble discussing questions.

I had ACC3510 with Professor Ryu and online. I thought he made what could be a tough course very easy to manage for students. Reality is that this is a course for accounting majors. CPA exam is going to be way harder than his tests. Read the book, read the notes, study good grade. I put 3-6 hours into the course per week.

I took Professor Ryu for ACC3520 twice. I scored a 39% on the second test despite studding like a maniac. I ended up failing and then retaking it. While it is a hard class, it is valuable because you WILL learn soooo much about Accounting. I am glad I took it with him, as he has been teaching it for over 22 years, and he is Super knowledgeable.

Took him online, there was only 3 exams and 4 projects. He graded very hard on both the exams and projects, did a lot of reading out of the textbook as well. I practically had to teach myself.

If you've been successful in other accounting course, his class should be a breeze. No homework other than 3 group projects. 3 tests and he gives you old tests as a study guide. Definitely passionate and knowledgeable.

There's a fine difference amount of work between his online and in-class course based on what my classmates have said. For his online course, it consists of 2 exams, 1 final, and 6 assignments, but be prepared for some intense studying (as in 20-25 hours a week of studying and practicing problems).

Tough class, he even says it on the syllabus. Took this class more than once. Very frustrating, I took 3510 with him and was not as bad. I wonder if you really have to know everything by memory because in real life you will NEVER have access to some help? Isn't it enough if you know how to use the tools? Glad I passed the class

I think Professor Ryu is a very good college professor. He is very experienced and knowledgeable. He does not make it very easy for students but gives enough opportunity through class tests and assignments for students to do good. I really liked him. Students need to work on their side to do good in his class and he does his side.

Tae teaches what is widely regarded as the toughest subject in the accounting program. You have to be smart and work hard to get through his class. Most Metro students are neither. If you bother to do the work, Tae tells you EXACTLY what is on the test and provides identical problems, and answers. No excuse to not get an A if you work.

The course can be tough but if you just study the materials provided by Dr. Ryu, you won't have problem passing classes. If you study hard with his materials you can get a good grade.

Online class was really tough given there is no help outside of the book. I didn't have to ask for help from him but he seemed distant the whole time. Just kept up with the syllabus and hoped for the best. Class was tough but not terrible.

Do the homework, ask questions, and study EXACTLY what he tells you. The class is more difficult because of the information, not because of the professor. If you work hard and talk to Ryu he will help you through it.

Great professor! His accent is pretty heavy so it's hard to understand him sometimes but his notes are easy to follow and very clear. He gives you the questions that he will be pulling 1-2 questions from for his quizzes. Exam are pretty difficult but he lets you know what to study for. There are 2 group assign. and a 6-8 page paper.

I found 3520 a lot easier then 3510. Dr. Ryu gives every opportunity for you to pass the class. His chapter the notes are easy to understand and much better then the book. He tells you what to study for the exams and the quizzes. You need to attended the class if you hate the book. He goes over a lot of problems in class.
