Very engaging lecturer who did a lot to make the course interesting. Her tests are basically just ten textbook definitions and not too challenging at all. Final exam was very fair. One of the better Poli-Sci profs at the U of M.

I thought she was great! I found that she mostly tested on textbook material, but it was not hard at all if you did the readings. Would love to take another class with her.

Had her for 2 classes this year and both were really good. In class (POLS1500) she is a good lecturer and begins each class with a musical intro. She is very open to in-class discussion, even mid-lecture. The online class (3342) was surprisingly straightforward and extremely informative. The video lectures provided were all well-done as well.

Tami is easily one of the best POLS profs at U of M and but this IR Theory course in specific isnt the best course by nature of the fact that its cross listed as a graduate course so the expectations get split. she did the best she could given the circumstances. you just really gotta read for this course but its a 4000 level so thats to be expected

I really enjoyed my time in her class! She's very good at explaining things, and works hard to make a potentially dry subject interesting. TA's mark papers in this class, so I can't comment on marking, but her tests were incredibly easy, just textbook/lecture definitions. Final exam is definitions + an essay question. Would recommend!

Nice lady. Very clear when speaking and explaining. Her lectures facilitate taking notes. Her tests were fair and contained questions that you should know from sitting in lectures. Notes aren't posted online. She gives a reading for each lecture, which you don't need to read because she summarizes it in class. Mark the important definitions though

Course itself was okay, and the tests were fair. However, I didnt like her, I found her to be rude and she showed no interest in her students. Essay comments only said what you did wrong, never anything you did right. Her responses to emails were rude. I asked if she provided a review and her response back implied I was lazy and should do the work.

Be prepared to do a LOT of reading for this course. There is a lot of material and if you're not keeping up, studying for the exam will be a nightmare. The exam is not difficult, but guidelines on what would be on it were vague. Important to know all of the course material inside and out, as the questions are very specific and not all obvious.

Was a boring teacher and a boring class, she would often say things that were just factually incorrect. Not a hard class though if you study.

Talks too much. Basically gives you no information in class, just explains briefly the points that she has on her PPT from years ago. You have to read the entire textbook but would only be tested for the finer details. She doesn't seem very friendly either and can be quite condescending during class lectures.

She's a pretty decent professor who explains concepts clearly and in an organized manner. The textbook has been extremely helpful, therefore, doing the readings are crucial into doing well in tests. The slides she uses served as merely a guide on what to study and should not be completely depended on it. She's also quite approachable after class.

Good prof, however lectures were mainly from powerpoint slides which were not posted online. However most of the questions on her tests were not from these slides, they were mainly from the textbook.

She is nice. Really knowledgeable but its liks she doesn't really care for the class. Group discussions are super helpful for understanding the conflict and she is really nice person to discuss it with. Make sure to do the readings. Not possible to pass without it. Quiz and final are definitions from the readings only.

Dr. Jacoby changed my life. Every complicated polisci concept was made crystal clear, she has the ability to ensure that you look at theories through a micro and macro lens, leading to a greater understanding down the line with other polisci concepts. I failed the first time in the Fall and got an A+ in summer when I applied myself.

She was a really good professor, definitely on the tougher side. Really helpful - she will adjust the class, the lectures, the notes, the reading, etc. All you have to do is ask her in class. She's very reasonable as well - she gave our whole class an extension on a paper bc we didn't have access to syllabus. Take the class, work hard, I got an A.

She is really amazing and definitely knows her stuff. Final exam I found easier than the first two tests as the two tests included a plethora of miniscule details (still got an a and a plus). Very friendly and approachable. Fast lecturer, but interesting and she covers a lot of material. You NEED to do the readings for the first two tests.

What a joke. For an online class she is unwilling to host office hours. No inclination to help students succeed. The first assignment was due in like a week from starting and was worth a grade point, what if students are transferring into classes during the revision period? I would stay away from her until she puts some thought into her classes.

I signed up because I believed what people wrote here about her being a great prof. WRONG. I took her class and she did not reply to any of my emails. You have to go and see her to ask questions. I did good on the test but she gave me a 58%. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF.

I really enjoyed this professor and this class, she was a real gem. However it is not an easy A. There was lots of reading and if you don't keep up it's impossible to catch up.
