Absolutely the best professor I had in undergrad. He has a great understanding of the material. Liberals or others with a disdain for the US Constitution would probably not care much for his class.

Never read the book. Write down all of the clicker questions and at least skim over the power points to easily pass tests. He reviews every test in class and if a high number of students select the same wrong answer, and someone can argue a point for that wrong answer, he will add points back to your test for that question.

Great Professor. He is funny!! Makes the material easy to learn. Tests are a mix of material from the book and lectures.

American Politics: His class is pretty easy. 3 exams and participation (attendance) make your grade. Attendance is required and he uses the clickers. During the lecture he pretty much gives you an idea of what will be on the exam. If you pay attention and read, you'll get an A.

I love american history/gov't. But I always found my self dozing off in this class. He used a microphone, and it always cut in and out. Curves big though. You MUST have a clicker for this class. You need to atleast skim the book, and always write down clicker questions. 3 exams for 30% each. 10% participation.

Mr. Arrington is a good professor, the class was relatively easy for me... should be for anyone who knows anything about the US Gov't. I didn't use my textbook at all and I got an A in the class. Attendance is MANDATORY. Sit through class, bring a book or laptop if you're bored like me - he uses those RF receivers to record attendance.

For the time prior to the test I sat in the front row and took notes and hung on every word. Prior to the first test I read all the required reading. I almost missed one question.2nd and 3rd test listened to nothing he said and ONLY read the book. A's on both test, but certainly did worse. READ THE BOOK and WRITE DOWN CLICKER QUESTIONS EASY A

3 exams, 1 of which is the final. My suggestion is attend EVERY class so you can write down every clicker question, and read the chapters. You honestly don't need to pay attention to the notes. The curve was ENORMOUS. People with 80s got As, 40-60 Ds, etc. Quite easy to get an A (or pass) with the only hard part being to read, oh no!

Taking his class for Research Methods was certainly not easy. There are three exams and a final 15 to 20 page research paper. The exams are mostly essay, but they were also open note/open book. If you pay attention in class and have him review your paper, you will do fine. I made an A. He is funny and helpful and I would definitely take him again.

I loved this class. Attendence is mandatory. So take it late in the day. He does 3 tests. I passed every one with an A and recieved 100+'s on them after he added the curve (14+ points everytime). Students around me had trouble, but seriously people, it's AMERICAN gov't. You should know it all already.

Attendance is mandatory but can be very boring because he gives you the notes online so there isn't much incentive to pay attention in class. Tests were only multiple choice and come from lecture and the book. I had an A until the final and I ended up with a B. Very arrogant and can sometimes be rude. If you're a POLS major, get used to him.

Bottom line..you gotta be a knucklehead not to pass his class. He goes over every test the day before you take it then allows you to debate the questions the day after you take it. If you can convince him the questions are screwed up, he either won't count them or he gives them to you and that is on top of the curve.

never read the book, hardly studied for tests and still make A's and B's on the tests. But only because of a big curve and questions that can be answered by elimination.Attending regularly you will comprehend more than you realize...but the time drags...not a bad guy

Be prepared to stay in class the entire time period. Overall, not a bad class, just 3 tests usually with a generous curve. I found the questions he gives you during lecture will show up on the tests, so write those down. He is boring, but he tries to make it interesting.

Class was extremely easy--3 tests per semester, multiple choice with an enormous curve and simplistic questions. Has good sense of humor, is generally courteous/helpful, and covers material thoroughly and at an average pace. As long as you study class notes and at least skim the reading material, the course should be a breeze.

I took this course to meet general college requirements. He was always late for class and many times rude.Nowriting was required. worst grade. lecture was disorganized and so was I. I have had to retake this course as a post-bac. Mostly no research or writing is required and very bad lectures and assessment techniques.

Please don't take him...He made an intro class so much harder then it needed to be. He was not helpful at all, I tried to stay after class and talk and he walked away from me! Only 3 tests that are not easy and you have to read the textbook a lot if you want a C.

He is very knowledgeable about this subject. Test are moderately hard, but he gives a very nice curve on most tests. You must read the book, but the book was very clear to understand. Only 3 tests during the semester, but it's not as bad as it seems. He is fairly approachable. Would take another class with him

Do not take this professor. I attended class regularly and read/outlined the chapter- still ending up with a C. His tests are not relevant to the reading nor to his biased lectures. It's tests require guess work instead of actual thinking. Avoid @ all cost.

Arrington seems like he has a cool personality but his classes are boring and seem to last forever. High textbook use. Tests usually around 30 questions, and he uses questions from the class website but changes a few words around usually to reflect his own liberal view of things. I got a B and rarely went to class.
