While she is a very nice woman she is awful at explaining things. In the beginning of the semester everything made sense but as soon as everyone understands what is happening she just hands out a worksheet as her way to teach new material and it is not helpful at all. Explanations are confusing but she is at least nice most of the time.

Wonderful Prof! The material may be difficult to grasp at times, but she is great at helping students understand. Personally, she is one of my favorite professors. And I swear she knows everything about grammar!

I am an English Major, and she was quite possibly the worse professor I have ever had. Her stories are pointless, she likes to talk about herself and down about her previous students, she is extremely rude, and she picks her favorites out right away. I will never take another class with her again.

You make what you earn in this class. It is not difficult provided you follow instructions. Not really recommended for English majors though unless taken early (like shortly after Freshman Comp.) Terry is very helpful but you actually have to GO to her. Most students don't make use of all the help she offers.

Terry is the most helpful professor I've ever come across. Very friendly, very knowledgeable in grammar skills. This class is difficult to grasp but a good tool for serious writers. Do not take this course if you do not sincerely want to understand grammar. Interesting class.

Worst teacher ever! I had her for business writing and she had no idea what she was doing. We had to write two really long papers, not really any business related material. I learned nothing from her. She believes that a C is a good grade, and most likely that is as highest grade anyone in the class will get. Do not take this class with her!

First of all, this is an advanced grammar course for English majors and future teachers. Terry is extremely helpful and explains things very clearly. She is a good professor and her expactations are for you to work and earn your grade.

I did exceptionally well throughout earning B+ - A+. She will teach you but is arrogant and condescending through email. I turned in the rough draft of the last paper and earned a B. The final copy, after putting in her suggestions, got a C+. Make sense much? She said I padded the bibliography, when I showed her proof she still wouldn't change it!

I have to say that all those crying about the class must have thought they were still in high school. Sorry guys, but college actually requires you to do some kind of work, and that's what advanced comp is about. I thought Lehr was very helpful, and always willing to help. If she gives you a low grade it's because you didn't follow directions!!

I took this class and disagree with everyone's comments. If you do the work and go to her, she gives you great help. She does not "rip your soul out." Also, it isn't impossible to get a good grade. If you follow the assignment and actually put some effort into it, you can get Bs and As..I did and its not hard. She really improves your writing.

Really focus on the last paper and go to the student learning center. DO NOT expect to get anything over a C your first few papers. Did learn some good stuff but she constantly read her bad reviews off of this site and it makes you even more frustrated with her and the class. I feel she could have been teaching more instead of reading reviews

Lehr-I find the insulting comments unacceptable.She belittles w/o justification.She generalizes, claiming how average we are& never good enough.Don't get me wrong,she is a fabulous teacher,but expect your pride to be ripped out of your soul.A different demeaner would be more professional as well as helpful in the comments she conveys.

Fairly good teacher. HARD GRADER, but fair. You really learn how to write better. She says that if you do what the assignment asks then you'll get a C, but you really have to do well to get anything higher. It's a tough class, but worth it.

One of the worst professors I've had. She is a stubborn pedant who likes to show the class all the things she has written to justify her position, I assume. I can see why she loves Judge Judy, because she also believes that she is always right and likes to say whatever sounds good to her at the moment.
