Comment:
Tests questions were kinda vague, and he looks for specifics. Lecture notes he posts online don't really cover what is tests; you really have to come to class and take notes. All in all though a good class to take.

Attend class and take notes; the notes he posts online (and the example questions) hardly cover even the bare bones of testable material. Likes to hear himself talk a lot, but that makes for some interesting 1-on-1 conversations. All that said, this class belongs in the Bio dept. Though he makes claims to the contrary, name memorization is key.

One of my favorite classes at Vanderbilt! Dr. Lybrand is not the friendliest or most flexible of professors, but he is extremely entertaining and interesting, and he really pushes you to think through chemical processes instead of memorizing facts for the tests. I learned so much from him, and I would encourage any Pre-med to take his class!

Med Chem is great! No textbook, and all the notes are posted on OAK. His notes aren't complete online so you need to go to class to fill them in. The material is extremely interesting, and it's all stuff you won't get in any other course. Very practical for the aspiring physician! There's a lot of material, but you'll be fine if you study.

one of the best chem elective classes you can take. there is no text book, so you either have to go to class to fill in the lecture notes or get them from someone else, but no outside of class work except for a little drug topic project which isn't bad it all; knows a lot about med chem . TAKE this class if you need an elective

Solid MedChem class. Wants everyone to do well, but does require students to actually understand the material. Great class for pre-meds and advanced chem students.

He teaches a very interesting medchem course. I didn't think I would get so into it, but it really sucks you in. Very informative. You can tell he knows what he's talking about. Tests aren't bad at all. You can make an A pretty easily.
