Comment:

Tiballi is a great professor but his exams are extremely difficult. There are quizzes every week. He gives partial credit. If he likes you he will help you pass. Practice problems in class are not helpful. Go to tutoring. He likes to use lnx and e^x on everything. You will fail if you don't try. It's a very hard class. Oswego calc is not good.

Comment:

Dr. Tiballi will probably be the best math teacher you could have. He lectures heavy but as long as you listen to what he says, show up to class, and actually do the homework assignments he gives to you, the class will be easy. He make a hard subject easier by breaking down the problems. I highly recommend taking Tiballi.

He's really kind. Especially he always give partial credit as much as possible wherever he can. Maybe lecture heavy but actually it's not that hard. Just follow the theorems in the book, take note and skimming over some problems he suggested as homework and you'll be guaranteed a B- at least I promise. Looks like Santa Claus also.

Comment:

Very very smart guy. I'm a good math student and even I struggle with listening to what he is saying because he's so smart. He speaks in math language which can get a lot of people confused but he is a great guy and has an interesting dorky sense of humor. I would definitely take another class with Tiballi.

I think he is an amazing person and if you go to his office hours with questions they will be answered. I thought the class was very easy and although there are huge amounts of homework assigned, they really help with tests. The only negative thing is that there are test every Tuesday.

Fair grader, gives a lot of chances to recover if you are having trouble. Gives plenty of examples and will go over any questions on the optional homework assignments. Weekly quizzes with opportunities to get bonus points. Overall great teacher, so long as you don't divide by zero.

He is an extremely fair grader. A metric ton of homework is assigned, whether you do it is up to you, he stresses you should do it. I didn't, it was not too bad. Class was just dry lecture for the length of the class, and a quiz or exam once a week. Looks like Santa Claus.

A brilliant man that is passionate about his subject. Attendance (and staying awake) is mandatory. Perfect attendance results in him dropping the lowest quiz grade. Weekly quizzes with problems similar to the homework. Willing to assist during plentiful office hours. Expects work by hand, not calculator. Also, speaks English as native language!

He is a great teacher. If you do not like math the class will be hard but that goes with out saying. He is a very nice kind hearted person that is always willing to help. He takes his students success to heart. I advice to take him. he gives great notes. Quizzes are hard but if you read the textbook and notes you will do fine.

Absolutely do not take this class. He gives absolutely no extra credit or partial credit. He is extremely harsh in grading and does not even go over exams. He is very stand off and is not easy to talk to whatsoever. If you have one small irrelevant error the entire problem is incorrect.

Probably the best math instructor I have ever had! He is a very nice guy with a witty and classic sense of humor. Although he gives homework every day and gives a quiz every Friday, he is extremely helpful and is more than willing to assist his students outside of class. Overall, he makes the class fun and interesting, which is hard to find!

Entire course is essentially done online. This is how the school wants it run now, so Tiballi isn't really to blame. 3 class days: 1 day he'll go over that weeks work, 2nd day you work on homework in lab, 3rd day there's a quiz and then you work on homework. The material isn't unreasonable to learn if you don't cut corners.

Didn't teach at all. we would go into class monday and he would review the past weeks lesson after we took the quiz and submitted out homework. He would usually walk out of lab for more than half the class.

Does not teach at all. He leaves the room when you are in lab, and only goes over how bad everyone did on the quizzes in the lecture. HE DOESN'T TEACH. Worst teacher I have ever had. You are teaching yourself. Absolutely no partial credit on quizzes, if you forget a "(" the entire thing is wrong. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Pure frustration.

Professor Tiballi is by far the best Math teacher I ever had. As a non-traditional student and years since my last math class, Prof Tiballi took the time to work with me and made sure I understood the material. His class is fast but very thorough. Excellent teacher. Really nice guy too. Attendance is mandatory if you want to keep up with the pace.
