This professor does not care about the students. Don't wast your time going to him for help because you won't get any. His lectures put you to sleep and you will find out that not many people attend. Also his tests are terrible and watch webct for homework, because he does not give much of a heads up when important papers are due.

Comment:

Class was definitely one of the hardest I've taken at Iowa State. This wasn't because the material was difficult (come on, its management), but the tests were insane. Each question is 4-5 sentences long and its hard to figure out what he wants. Avoid.

This professor is amazing. Some people dont like him thinking his exams are hard. But he is extremely helpful if you reach out to him. You cant sit on a 300 student class and expect the professor to serve each and every one of you. But if you reach up to him he is such a helpful charachter. Filled with knowledge, so much of real world examples.

Avg on tests was a D-, although I scored above that. Does RANDOM in-class things, only 4 this semester. The class itself is easy, not much additional work, but the tests are extremely hard. Long questions. Get Rick Smith if you can!

This class is hard and I agree with a lot of the comments already said, but Dr. Chacko is a good resource and very helpful outside of class. He said a lot of useful things in class and I really learned a lot from him. Test questions are lengthy because multiple choice quesitons should not be 2-3 sentances in length for each question.

I personally thought Chacko was interesting, but I think I might have been the only one who thought so. His exams were difficult because they were mostly 50 multiple choice senerio questions. Memorizing definitions will not get you through that class. Also... GO TO CLASS!!! That is the key to passing!

He needs to take a speech class and then learn how to create test questions. I would study for 5 or 6 hours for a test, reading the book and notes, and I would still get an average grade for the class. The lecture material is very small compared to the required reading.

No doubt this is a difficult class and especially to take it at 8am, but Chacko is a decent professor. He throws out a lot of real-world advice to try to prep his students for after college so that proves that he cares about them. He made seeing his students a priority outside of class if they needed help. Tests are hard, but curved

DO NOT get this professor! He is by far the worst professor I've ever had. He doesn't seem to care how his students do on the tests (averages being D's). We've been told to study 20+ hours for each exam and they're radiculous. If you do get him, make sure you don't read the newspaper during class.

Worst professor I've had at ISU along with Gregorac (math 150) and Gregg (hist 222). If you put a tie on a monkey and had him stand in the front of the room, I probably would have learned more. His test are absolutely ridiculous. An example test question would be "what is your favorite color?" no matter what color you picked, you would be wrong.

Wastes time on irrelevant sunjects and spends no time on testable material. Reading is a waste of time, lecture is a waste of time, and he seem so full of himself. Tests seem to cover new material and the reading are out dated. DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY, he blows.

Despite what anyone else says, Chacko is really nice. If you went in for help, he provided it with encouragement. The class was really tough, honestly I didn't pay much attention during class, had average performance on the tests(which were the worst part) but still ended up with a B+.
