Very good professor. This class was very hard and I got a C in it, but I can't blame him. He will tell you from the start it's a hard class. Not confusing at all, great guy. Makes the class fun. Love you Gundling!!

Absolutely love him, he's an excellent prof, very intelligent and enthusiastic & tries to make all the material accessible and interesting. Makes sure students understand before moving on, and open to tangent discussions which get pretty interesting. IMO not too much work, tests are fair with study guides & his paper is on any topic you choose

Not an easy A, but an interesting class. Good class discussion which help to understand and remember the material. 2 quizzes, 3 exams, one 7 pg paper which he will read and comment on before u hand it in. Extra credit opportunities and if you participate he absolutely takes that into account when calculating final grades. Great prof!

Professor Gundling is one of the best professors I've ever had, hands down. He's everything a good professor should be -- kind, patient, funny, extraordinarily intelligent, and extremely passionate about his field. He makes his lessons fun and interesting for everyone. I definitely plan on taking more of his classes in the future.

Very intresting class. As you read in all the comments... TO MUCH WORK!!! The studying for test part is good. But the 8 page paper is crazy. At minimum: split the paper into 2- 3 papers, Human origins is a limited subject. ESPECIALLY FOR STUDENTS WHO ARENT ANTHROPOLOGY MAJORS! (About 70% of the class) Excluding the paper the class would be great.

I had his online section over the summer. He was great, very nice, and he laid out his expectations very clearly. It was a ton of work, and because he posted assignments daily you couldn't really work ahead. One essay every weekday and a discussion board post. That is on top of doing the reading involved. I would take classes with him again.

Great teacher. Challenging class, so don't bother taking him if you're lazy and want an easy A. One of the first classes I really had to work hard in to get a good grade - good if you're an anthro major. Nice person, always helped me. Definately worth it.

Best class ever! Really interesting and when he teaches you know hes excited about it. Its a lot of info but he takes his time with it and breaks it down for you so your not overloaded for the tests. Because of him im making anthro my minor. Hes a great guy and takes what his students have to say seriously.

Dr. Gundling has been the best teacher I've ever had. He got me so interested into anthro that it is now my major. He uses a lot of visual aides. The books are not used very much. He types up a great review for each exam. The exams are based 90% on lecture but there is some stuff from the book. Not too many assignments. Easy to talk to.

Gundling is a challenging, but awesome teacher. He will not dumb down his class for people who do not try at all, so if you want easy A's and would rather learn less, head elsewhere. He is a really nice guy, but that does not mean you can slack in his class without facing the consequences. He is fair.

This class was interesting and not that hard. All you have to do is take notes and then match your notes with the study guide. He gives you a lot of assignments so if you do bad on the tests your grade is boosted by the assignments.
