Can't take this website seriously! Howard was only here my sophomore year, 04-05, as visiting prof, so those 03 and 04 ratings must be about someone else. He was an excellent teacher. Landscape & Culture course was great. Lots of field trips to places in RI that I never heard of even though I grew up here. Maybe RWU can get him back.

DO NOT TAKE!! GPA WILL SUFFER! gives 4 essay tests(counts the best 3)-80% of the grade and 20% is participation. all he does is lecture EVERY class. When he grades your test, he doesnt tell you why he gives you the grade you got. there is no logic to anything he does.

Prof. Howard is a good guy but could afford to become more enlightened about tolerating differences and worrying less about JAF's "image." His class is worth taking though. There is the potential to learn a lot and he seems willing to think his decisions through.
