Hubert can be tough. You need to be willing to work hard for your grade - he won't just give it to you. Teaching style is lax because he wants to students to think creatively and ask questions. He does critique on the harder side, especially if you do not put much effort into the piece. Show a lot of interest and effort and you will do fine

Hands down the worst 'teacher' I've ever had. Doesn't teach, only tells when projects are due (Mind you, the projects are horribly vague - pictures shown are drastically different than the guidelines). Hard on critiques. Prefers conformism in the class over creativity. Extremely boring. Stay far, far away if you value your sanity.

AMAZING TEACHER! I had him for 3D last year and learned sooo much from him - his class challenges you, but you learn so much and you realize what you can actually accomplish - i loved his class and loved him as a teacher, he's a real nice guy!

Professor Hubert is a great guy and very fair. I have taken 3d design and ceramics with him. he likes the students to experiment and learn on their own. he gives quizes and the projects are fast paced. you never really need the textbook. you will pretty much always get a better grade than you think but don't show up late- he hates that.

the critiques can really get people down and the work is very hard but he knows what he is talking about and is a nice guy. usually you will get a better grade than you think but you have to try and show that you are interested in the class. the biggest project is the installation at the end of the term- very hard but very fun

It graduated in 1994, but I had to rate Mr. Hubert---He was the best Art professor at Mercyhurst. While many of the art professors there didn't exactly understand the art of "TEACHING", I take a lot from Hubert's class. I found him very nice and personable--and back then he was pretty easy on the eyes as well :)

you will WORK in this class. People frequently are up all night in the studio for all classes. I found him cold and humorless. Definitely favors guys in the class. Don't let the class critiques psych you out, that was my downfall. He's not a bad guy now that I see him outside of class... but man did I hate that class.

Hes really hard, but if you can be creative and put a lot of work into the projects you should do well. He grades hard on craftsmanship when some people suck at 3d craftsmanship. I hated that, but papers and critiques are great the more you participate.
