He is older so he gets confused easily. When you try to explain your question to him, he tries to answer but makes you even more confused. He gives homework pretty much everyday that you are there. He will just "erase" your absences if you give him any sort of reason. You will need a textbook. Class isn't that hard, as long as you teach yourself.

I took just simple Algebra with this professor. Math 109. I have to say while yes he tries, he is no doubt the worst professor or teacher I've ever had! I'm not sure if it's because he is getting older but he can not teach. He forgets material, does most problems incorrect and then students correct his work and very confusing! Had to drop or fail.

He is a nice guy, and he tries hard to help you understand. If you fail a test, he usually gives you the option to retake it. The problem is as much as he tries to help, he is just very confusing. Also, if you do all your homework you can't get less than a C in his class, it's 75% of your grade.

Do not listen to these reviews. I had a great experience in his statistics class and calculus class, I received an A in both. If you put effort into his classes you cannot fail. If you are having trouble go talk to him during his office hours he will be glad to help you. He does give a substantial amount of home work but, you learn it.

He's just an okay teacher. I strongly advise you before taking Math 109--Algebra, to have a good math background. At the start of the class, we had around 25 people. Now, we have about 6 who attend class regulary. He does a fair job at explaining a topic. He uses his famous "more than one way to get to Princeton from Bluefield" speech. LOL!
