class was ok, you really have to read the chapters because although in class he gives you information, the tests and quizzes still require you to have some book knowledge, exams were multiple choice, quizzes were fill in the blanks and there were map quizzes too, the class wasn't that hard but do your readings and you will be fine

Does not teach the material. Rants on whatever is on his mind, many times reading an entire newspaper article out loud to the class to waste time. Unapproachable and apathetic to students. Avoid if possible. If not, reading is most importaint, lectures are useless.

His lectures have nothing to do with what you will be tested on. Quizzes are always on small in important details. Most questions aren't discussed in the book or during lecture..

Great Professor in terms of personality. His teaching style is also good, he is easy to understand. But, a lot of what he teaches in lecture is not on any quiz or test. An interesting class to take, but also fairly difficult - a LOT of reading and studying if you want a decent grade.

For a 1000 level course, this is the hardest one at UConn. You have to know everything in the reading. Usually puts about 4 to 5 chapters on each test and the chapters are very long, over 90 pages. You have to know EVERY detail and EVERY example they say in the book. His class notes are pointless. Take a different class with different professor

I really liked his lectures and went to every class, but you need to do all the reading if you want to do good. Most of the stuff from the lectures is not on the exams. I wouldn't say its too hard to get a good grade, you just have to stay on top of everything, and don't think your going to skip a chapter of the reading.

Compared to other sections of GEOG 160, this one is the hardest. What you learn in lecture is a minimal amount of the exams. In order to do well you must know just about everything in the reading. Simply doing the study guides will only guarantee about at 60. Try to get another section if possible.

Lecture is very interesting, but the quizes and tests don't resemble anything said in lecture. YOU HAVE TO READ THE ENTIRE BOOK to do well. Pop quizzes were difficult as well. I would reccommend NOT taking his class, it's not worth it.

He deceives you by handing out a study guide for the exam and telling you to study it your note and the terms in the chapter, if you only do that youll probably get a 60 on the exam. YOU MUST READ EVERY PAGE IN THE CHAPTERS WHICH THE EXAM IS ON(3X) ABOUT HALF THE STUFF ON THE EXAM WAS NEVER EVEN MENTIONED(never mind discussed) IN THE LECTURE

Class is moderate, You REALLY have to take notes and learn about 200 terms. The tests are hard but he provides a study sheet to use as a guide. If you like geography take it, if not, then maybe seek an alternative. This class is known to be really hard for a gen-ed.

Great teacher and not a very difficult class. If you show up and actually do the reading, you should be fine, as the tests are pretty straightforward. Some curveball questions on tests now and then, but they won't kill you. Surprise quizzes were easy except for one or two. I got an A.
