The reason he is liked or disliked is that he is unorthodox. He might be crazy. Entertaining class though, he attempts to use the economy and real world experiences to make accounting about more than just numbers. He also places relentless emphasis on how important it is to be accurate and legible. Great tips although some get sick of hearing it.

Mr. Lougheed is by far the best teacher I've had at MCC. I have taken him for both 201 & 202. If you are interested in learning, he's your man. If you are a whiny highschooler, take 101. He will help those who are willing to learn. He has encouraged us all to be better students.

There are some instructors who make a positive difference in your life and Mr. Lougheed, out of all of the instructors I have ever had, made the biggest difference in mine. I now have an MBA and owe a lot of my success to how hard he pushed me. Hang in there and work hard, you'll do fine.

stop complaing. Very bad teacher. Unknown fact if you gather 100 or more signatures for any teacher discussing how horrible they are, take it to the dean or president, they cant help but to take action. So people come together and lets get rid of this teachers that aren't doing anything but wasting our money

Tom is Awesome. Teaches 300 level thinking to 100 level students. If you want spoon-feeding, go back to mommy. If you want cost accounting, statistics, ecnomics, logic all in one class... Only instructor during my BBA to go cover-to-cover in a textbook. Cost accounting 300 was simple thanks to Tom.

very unusual teaching style, makes you question everything you see. rarely answers a question with an answer. very intelligent and sees the big picture well. if accounting is your major he is very well versed in what you will need to be successful.
