Comment:
Dr. Malloy is really nice, but he is the worst lecturer ever! He'll start off explaining pretty well, but then he gets confused himself and then he says "Whatever!" at the end and doesn't complete what he explains. You have to rely completely on the book, and his tests are pretty easy though. Gives quizzes almost every week, which helps!

His tests were easy. Was helpful but only if you asked him. For the most part if you enjoy chemistry and have some previous knowledge, the class is very easy. Practice tests are very helpful.

I must admit, his quizzes (always multiple choice) and tests were pretty easy compared to those of the other professors. This is an excellent prof for those who can teach chemistry to themselves. If you've always had trouble with chemistry, try Palasota. I went to 1 of his recitations and he answered questions completely and with clarity.

I loved taking this class. People say he doesn't know how to teach but he's very helpful if you go to him outside of class, it's just sometimes hard for him to explain clearly in class. His practice exams are exactly like the tests! Some problems on the test come straight from the homework and practice tests.

Dr. Malloy is a very smart man and he knows a lot. He is a good teacher and if you pay attentions tells you everything you need to know. Gen Chem students just can not appreciate but he IS a good teacher, chemistry just isn't for everyone.

I loved Dr. Malloy! This is my third semester taking him not because of him, but because of problems I had at home. People say that all he does is read the powerpoints straight from the book, but at least you know exactly what he expects for his tests. He posts old exams on blackboard. No surprises!

DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN!!! Malloy 's class is the most boring and pointless class ever. His class lectures is basically him reading the textbook to you. If you have Malloy...SWITCH NOWW!!! Only a crazy man would take this class.

Dr. Malloy is a HORRIBLE teacher. He has no clue what he is doing. His class lectures are basically power point presentations with 100% word for word as the textbook. You might as well learn on your own. I had him for one week and switched. Take Palasota. 100% better. But..Malloy is a nice man though

okay, this guy CAN NOT teach. HEs a very nice person, but has no capability of teaching. This class is basically self taught, so if you can teach yourself you are fine...if not...youre screwed.

Dr. Malloy is an incredibly kind person, but he has trouble teaching the material clearly in class. Going to him one on one, he is wonderful and able to explain everything clearly and thoroughly. In the classroom, he goes through problems far too slowly and often makes mistakes in his calculations. If you can teach yourself, you'll be fine.

He's a very nice person willing to help, but doesnt explain things well. All of it is straight from the book. So if you are good at chemistry and can explain things to yourself..this class is good...but if not...then dont take him.

He is reading the book to you through his powerpoints. Then he always has to go back and fix a mistake. Extremely boring, but the practice test are just like the real thing. Lots of homework, but helps u to understand the material, b/c he sure doesn't.

The powerpoints don't help at all, and they are confusing to the class and him! Assigns alot of homework, but it helps in the end. Quizzes aren't bad, but he's very ambiguous about what's on the tests. The class is not worth the time! I dont recommend him b/c the class was confusing & just bad!

True, his Powerpoints were a bit confusing, but overall it was a much better class/experience than the second semester of General Chem with Palasota. Slept through a lot of it, and did poorly on the tests, but we were able to retake two the four. (and you don't really have to do the homework...)

he's a super nice guy, but he's so boring...i spent all my time in class trying to stay awake while he confused himself and the rest of the class with those silly powerpoints. i definitely wouldn't take him again and i suggest you dont either.

I do NOT recommend his class. On a side note, Dr. Malloy is a good man and probably smart, but his teaching is NOT very good at all. (He would confuse himself on his own powerpoint examples). Assigns a lot of problems for homework, too.
