He is not understanding or helpful. What he writes in his syllabus is all you get so don't even bother asking questions if you don't want to be embarrassed or belittled.

So.. He's a good professor if you give him a chance. Attend class if you wanna pass. He does clickers. His class is exam heavy, however, for his final, I HEAVILY suggest going over his sample questions for his final exam (wink wink). Ask questions, get involved in his class, and you'll pass.

Prof. McCaleb is great. Going into the class, I wasn't sure what to expect (Econ of the Law is a little vague) but he made it my favorite Econ class I've ever taken. If you like logical challenges and aren't afraid to put in the work, you'll love this class.

His power points are super helpful and if you go to class and take notes you'll be fine. He gives you a lot of chances to keep your grade up with micro being a hard class. The final counts the most!!

Mccaleb is a great teacher. Micro can sort of be a hard class, but he breaks the material down very nicely. If you do the homework and understand them, you'll ace the test.

Micro is always hard, but McCaleb is one of my favorite professors for three reasons. A:tests are at the testing center (easier to procrastinate) B:the final could cancel out all the other tests C:he cuts out a lot of unnecessary information. My friends didn't like him because all the HW is online and requires actual work, but it's easy points.

Take Microeconomics online. If you aren't willing to do that (so much easier), do not take McCaleb. No extra credit, curves, review sessions, or even the slightest amount of sympathy for your grade. Went to get tutoring and my tutor claimed that the way he was teaching us was out of order and way harder than it should be. Get someone else.

Does not provide study guides for any tests. He will never review material either like any other professor in the economics dept would do (like Sherron or Joab). He continues to teach new material before we even take an exam on older stuff. He refuses to post answers or explanations to the vague study materials he does post. Don't get him.

Microecon is not an easy class, and professor McCaleb is one of the most unhelpful professors I've ever had. He refused to meet with me for office hours. He doesn't allow us to take notes on laptops and expects us to write down info on his slides in seconds. He also teaches the content in a nonsensical according to every tutor I've had.

Mr. McCaleb was a very entertaining professor. I thoroughly enjoyed his attitude and sarcasm. Best things about this class: he drops the lowest three homeworks and the lowest three quizzes, and your grade on the final will replace any test grades lower than it. You can fail all three tests during the semester, get an A on the final, and get an A.

This professor is amazing. He has an awesome policy where ALL lower test grades are replaced by the final. I had test grades of 72, 80, and 84, but since I got an 88 final all those were replaced and I got an A- in the class when I deserved a C+. Also he seems grumpy but he's hilarious and very knowledgeable. Very tough class but I learned so much.

This was a required class for my major, but, I genuinely did enjoy Professor McCaleb's instruction. Sure, he's a bit grumpy, but honestly it's nothing to take personally. His lectures, although sometimes long, are applicable and can be interesting. If you're not scatterbrained like me, it should be an easy A (he drops 3 lowest quiz/hw grades).

McCaleb was one of the best professors I've had at FSU. It's not an easy class but his lectures are well paced and thorough, while the tests are straightforward but tough. Attendance is mandatory and you wouldn't pass the class if you don't go. He requires you to think through the material, and has a great personality. Definitely worth the work.

Take this class if you want to lower your GPA. Classmates and I constantly complained about how our test grades were the lowest grades we had ever received as college students and McCaleb did not seem to care much. He was cool at times, but this class was just way too much stress for an elective course.

McCaleb does a really good job of forcing you to learn the material. He gives iclicker questions, so you need to attend the class every day. The online homework is actually really helpful for understanding the concepts from class. He is a great lecturer, and illustrates his concepts very clearly. But, you have to work really hard to get an A.

Econ and the law has been my favorite class at FSU so far. I came close to dropping it when I read the syllabus but am so glad I decided to stay. Attendance and lots of studying are a must but Dr. McCaleb makes this class fun and worth attending.
