The key to success in his class: Read. Read. Read. Do not be absent because you will miss out on his daily quizzes (which are a large portion of your grade. Dr. Mitchell is the reason I became an English major, and I have never regretted it. You will learn a lot in his classroom and the work, though tough, is very worthwhile. He is ambitious and expects the same from his students. I have taken many classes with him and always walk away exhausted but, I think, a better student. A great man.

I have never written a bad paper after taking this dude for am lit. He demands a lot (writing essays and reading), but the stories are cool. The essays are tough. Just remember sources (add extra) for a better grade.

He is an excellent teacher. There are lots of assigned readings for his class, but all the stories are interesting. He is very passionate about his work and it shows. I don't think I have ever had a teacher give more quizzes than this guy. If you don't read you will lower your grade. Overall, this class is an easy A+.

Very smart!! His classes are awesome...I MISS THEM A WHOLE LOT. The knowledge he imparts is incomparable. He deserves *the best professor award*!! I was extremely happy when I got an A on one of my essays...yes it's a challenge to pull off an A !
