Awkward personality, thought generally nice. Very unorganized lectures. Dont print the notes - he makes them impossible to take notes from. Read the book if you want an A!!!

Dr. Shaffer's classes are relatively useless. He's very unorganized and generally lets students "benefit" from it. Take his class if you want the A but don't want to learn anything.

Avoid classes from him. He's a wonderfully brillant man- but horrible at preparing classes, grading anything, and getting back to students on time. His private practice consumes more time than his teaching- which means you get a half distracted teacher during the week you are not sitting in class with him.

Dr.Shaffer is a decent professor, when he shows up to class. his private practice consumes most of his time.appears to have to much going on to fulfill normal duties of being a professor, such as replying to students emails, preparing lectures, and posting/grading asgns. Outside of class he shows a genuine concern for students academic success

He expects you to be responsible for your share of the learning. he is willing to help and explains criticisms on work. he is much easier to learn from that Phelps and is much more respectful. Shaffer treats you like an adult.

Terrible professor. Claims to respond to emails but doesn't. Doesn't show your grades until after the semester is over. he's catty...not helpful at all. Useless class. I would've learned more if I had just read the book, rather than wasting time with all the pointless lectures we had to watch and useless readings we were required to do.

He did not grade our term paper, our oral presentations were turned into an on-line discussion or something like that. He did about as little as it is possible for a professor to do and still get paid to "teach" this class.A complete joke for a professor, a waste of money. His classes should cost less since we get so much less from taking them
