Dr. Turner is amazing! He's really lenient with attendance so, if you can't make it just email him and then your absence is excused. He loves anything Abraham Lincoln! His tests are difficult because there's so much information and he doesn't give you a study guide so it's on you to study all the info. But he's one of the best, would take again!

Professor Turner is my spirit animal, he loves history, and teaching it to others. He is always happy and enthusiastic, and his boston accent is so thick i dont even think he knows what an "R" is!!!

I don't advise that you take this course. There's a lot of reading that he assigns , and the tests are very difficult. The tests are a range of multiple choice as well as long response questions based on several chapters. For example the first test may be from chapters 1-4 in the textbook which leaves students with alot to study.

Prof.Turner is really smart and knows every little fact about the Civil War. Hes a really hard grader and never discusses the readings, which he assigns in pretty large amounts, during class time. The tests might as well be trivia contests for the first two sections. He's smart, but he's hard. He is pretty nice though.

Turner is awesome, I think he's about to retire but take him if he's still around. There's a lot of reading involved (not really a problem until you have to pile it on top of 5 other finals) but his lectures are interesting, he knows his stuff, and he's an all around good guy. If you go to class and do the reading you will do well

Pretty decent professor and really knows his stuff.. but should not be teaching "Civil War" but instead "Random people and facts about the Civil war and Licoln my love". If you are interested in learning random facts and going into deep detail about Lincoln, this is your class. Everything else during the civil war he barely even touches.

GREAT TEACHER! He really knows his American history. His tests aren't difficult if you take good notes. He tests almost exclusively from his lectures, with one essay from the book (and two essays from class). His classes are interesting, and he's a fun guy to listen to. PS I've seen him on a few of those history channel shows.

Turner knows his stuff and there's no BSing him. You have to go to class because exams questions are in regards to what he spoke about in class. Total of 2 exams and 1 final. STUDY! Funny guy, very clear, notes are all written on the board. If you write down his notes on the board and listen to his lectures (which are interesting) and do the readings you can easily get an A. Just show up to class and do the work. It's a good class.
