You get a big bonus if you attend every class period which is essential, and almost everything is done with a partner. Worst teacher I've ever had. very intimidating, strict and tough grader. The class is scared to ask questions because he is really mean to people who ask questions. I hate this teacher and encourage anyone to avoid him at all costs

What I like about this professor is that he has a better website then most professors, he's really organized. But attendance is mandetory and after three absences you get 15 points deducted. His test are timed and unorganized, and they are really challenging. I would recommend taking his course if you don't have too many things in your life.

Dr. Turner is so funny and sweet. He cares so much about his students. He plays a tough guy routine at the beginning of the semester to scare out the ones that cannot take it so that they don't lose all their money. Overall one of the best professors I have ever had in my entire life. 10 out of 10 would take and would recommend. HE IS AMAZING!

The material is complicated. He's willing to answer questions if you ask, even if hes intimidating at first. Tests are brutal but he curves them. TEXTBOOK IS AWFUL and you will need to use it. about 10 hw assignments and 2 projects. make sure you seek outside help for them. show up to each class and take advantage of his 5% bonus

He assigns a boatload of homework for it (assignment due every class period) but they are pretty short and graded on completion for this class. He curves his tests generously which is a plus. he posts his lectures on his UCO website and a schedule for the class. best way to see if he's for you is check it out by going through the cs dept website

Strict on attendance. All assignments are in groups. Lectures are boring. Often lets out early. Projects can be hard, but you should expect that in compsci. He's always available and willing to help. Great guy. Extremely clear expectations. Easy tests if you study. Make sure you chat with him outside of class - amazing insights.

Dr. Turner has no business teaching Discrete Structures. He admitted on the first day that he isn't qualified to teach this class, and it shows throughout the semester. He's rude to students who go to his office hours seeking help, and grades based on formatting because even he doesn't understand half of the material. Avoid this prof if you can.

Doesn't know the material, incredibly rude to students, grades based on format not on content, wastes your money by letting class out 30 minutes early every day. If attendance was not required, no one would go to class because his lecture is word for word read from his word document that he puts online. You can tell he doesn't like being there.

Worst teacher ive ever had period. First day of class he tells us he knows nothing about java and will be learning with us. Great way to start out the semester i must say. He has a very strict attendance policy, if you miss more than 2 days you drop letter grade each time. He has no interest in teaching and just wants the day to be over.Thumbs down

I cant believe some of the ratings here. Turner is brilliant. He has a strong personality and hilarious sarcasm that may be harsh to the weak minded. Dont let it put you off, he cares about teaching and will go out of his way to help you. He doesnt give grades away, you have to earn them. Class is not easy, but its programming!! Amazing teacher.

Excellent teacher, took a week or so to get used to his persona. If you are a diligent student you will do fine, work done in most every class. Quizzes are take home and test are easy if you study the previous tests he has on his website.

Dr. Turner is a bi-weekly reminder that there is someone worse than Dr. Stockwell. He reads from his notes. He drifts into the dumbest stories I have heard. And he gripes about his job and having too many students constantly. Here is a clue, if his classes were not mandatory, he would have no students. He is the killer of souls.

Today while explaining an assignment, Dr. Turner asked us how the code worked. Today's ROI value was about 1/10 hour to 1.5 hours.. But good news, no stories about gay bars and boy scouts.
